Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1729

When they met last time, he thought he had made himself crystal clear.

He hadn't expected her to still be throwing herself at him.

According to Polly.

Annie had visited the studio not long ago, pretending to be a client to sniff around Ebony Fox.

That very evening, his mother miraculously found out about the relationship.

It was painfully obvious who had tipped her off.

She was a woman, and he generally didn't want to lower himself to her level.

But since she insisted on coming for Ebony Fox, all bets were off.

"Kurt..." Annie's eyes instantly welled up with tears, looking completely heartbroken.

"Save it!"

He snapped coldly. "Your tears are completely worthless to me. Crying isn't going to fix anything."

"You better pray these rumors have nothing to do with you. Otherwise, I don't give a damn if you're an Ainsworth or anyone else—I will destroy you."

Annie choked back her tears, nervously wringing her hands as she looked toward Monique with guilty eyes. "Monique, I didn't do anything."

"Kurt, that is enough." Monique instantly jumped to her defense, shielding Annie. Her face was severe. "She is a guest in this house. Is that any way to speak to her?"

"This is exactly how I speak to her."

Shoving his hands into his pockets, his handsome face was carved from ice. He enunciated every word with lethal precision. "I came back today to clarify one thing."

"Ebony Fox did not seduce me. I schemed, I chased, and I practically begged on my knees for her to accept me as her boyfriend."

His voice echoed sharply through the hall. "If I ever hear another word of slander against her, you all know exactly what the consequences will be."

"Oh, and by the way~"

Kurt smirked, tossing out one final bombshell. "You all probably know she's Juniper's older sister, right?"

"Juniper, Shanley's wife, does not tolerate people messing with her family. If you want to see what happens when you drag her sister's name through the mud, be my guest."

"When she gets angry, Shanley gets angry. And who do you think my brother is going to take it out on?"

The entire room fell dead silent.

When Kurt threatened to settle the score, they had been a bit skeptical.

After all, he was usually so easygoing and always wore a smile.

"Monique~"

Annie looked at her with red, pitiful eyes.

"I'm sorry, Annie. Things are a bit chaotic today. Why don't you head home for now?" Monique rubbed her temples, a severe headache setting in. "I'll invite you over some other time."

Annie frowned deeply. Was Monique actually backing down because of his threats?

It had taken so much work to get the older woman on her side.

If Monique gave up, Kurt would truly belong to Ebony Fox.

No.

She had to come up with another plan.

Perhaps—

She could frame Ebony Fox's studio in a scandal, or better yet, get her thrown in jail.

That way.

Even if Kurt couldn't bear to let her go, the Schwartz family would never accept a convicted felon into their ranks.
