Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 780

Especially since he was still injured and couldn’t perform at his best.

“Hiss—” Just as Shanley’s mind was racing, a sudden cold sensation spread across his chest. He looked down and saw Juniper dabbing medicine on his wounds.

“It’s usually a million for one application,” Juniper said slowly. “But as a reward, I’ll give you half off.”

“So this is my reward?” Shanley lifted his gaze to her face, a hint of a smile in his deep eyes.

“What else?” Juniper replied calmly, tossing the cotton swab into the trash and wiping her hands. “Remember to transfer the money.”

“You little money-grubber.”

As she turned to leave, Shanley wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin gently on her shoulder. “But I already gave you all my money. I’m broke.”

“Then what should we do?” Juniper asked, a playful glint in her eyes as she wiped her fingers.

“How about—” Shanley’s smile was lazy and confident. He leaned in, his lips close to her ear, his warm breath fanning across her neck as his intoxicating voice whispered, “I pay you back with my body?”

At his words, Juniper’s eyes flew open, and an unexpected heat rose in her cheeks.

Their eyes met. After a long moment of silence, Juniper slowly uttered, “Ebony Fox may be weak, but she can still tear off three of your legs without a problem.”

Three legs? A smirk tugged at Shanley’s lips, a flicker of amusement crossing his stiff expression. She was ruthless. Wasn't she afraid of becoming a widow?

“Alright,” Shanley didn’t argue. It was just a joke. He gently ruffled her hair. “Go get some sleep.”

She was destined to be his, anyway. A day or two wouldn't make a difference.

As he thought about it, Shanley fell into a pensive mood. Juniper’s birthday was coming up, wasn’t it? Once her birthday passed, she would be twenty. And there were a lot of things you could do after you turn twenty.
