His fingers twitched in a strange way. His face was pointed toward the ground, but his body struggled to rise in a stiff, unnatural motion.

Robin watched the bizarre scene. A bad feeling slowly crept into her mind.

She held her breath and stared. The man wriggled on the ground for a long time. Finally, he pushed himself up and stood, swaying back and forth.

The car must have hit him hard. One of his arms had popped out of its socket and hung uselessly at his side. The bone in his lower leg had broken through the skin. It stuck out in the open in a terrible way.

Their eyes met. Robin’s breath caught in her throat.

His eyes were gray and cloudy. His face looked pale and sickly. Dark veins crawled across his skin. His nails were long and sharp, and his posture was twisted and wrong.

The apocalypse had started early.

At the very beginning, zombies moved slowly. They could only hunt by smell.

The zombie slowly turned his neck, as if searching for something.

A moment later, he suddenly started walking forward. One arm dangled at his side. One leg dragged awkwardly behind him. His mouth stretched wide, almost to his ears, and a rough, muddy growl came from his throat as he rushed toward Robin’s car.

His bloody mouth lunged toward the open window—

Clang!

Robin pulled a shovel out of her storage space. Without thinking, she swung it hard. The shovel slammed into the zombie’s head, knocking off half of it.

The zombie froze instantly.

Zombies couldn’t feel pain. Their only weak point was the head. No one understood that better than Robin.

Thick yellowwhite brain matter slowly dripped to the ground. Robin used the shovel to push the body away so it wouldn’t stain her car.

But her mood suddenly turned grim.

She hadn’t expected the apocalypse to arrive early. Was it possible that her rebirth had changed the world?

Robin had no time to think about it now. She stepped on the gas and sped toward the zoo. When she arrived, she used her employee access card to open the staff entrance and quickly drove inside.

At this time of day, the zoo was still packed with people.

The zombie virus hadn’t spread here yet. Visitors walked back and forth with happy smiles on their faces. There were high school seniors who had just graduated, holding their exam admission slips to get the student discount. Families of three walked together, laughing and chatting. Young couples strolled hand in hand, sweet and carefree.

None of them had any idea that a terrible disaster was about to erupt.

Sitting in her car, Robin watched the crowd coldly. She didn’t stop. The moment she arrived at ShangriLa, she released all the construction materials from her storage space in one go.

A mechanical voice echoed in her mind.

Beep! Concertina razor wire detected. Solar panels detected. Blastresistant doors and windows detected. Nano composite wall system detected. Highdefinition surveillance cameras detected. Installing

Robin stared in surprise.

Every time the system finished a line, ShangriLa changed right before her eyes. In just a few minutes, the once rundown villa transformed completely. It now looked like a steel fortress.

BeepShangriLa renovation rating: SClass. Reward granted: All facilities fully refurbished. All defensive systems upgraded.”

As soon as the announcement ended, the concertina razor wire surrounding the villa began to thicken and rise higher. The sharp blades grew longer and wider, glinting with a chilling cold light.

The blastproof doors and bulletproof windows visibly thickened by several more inches. The security bars on the windows also changed. Their original silver color turned into a dark matte finish that looked both solid and intimidating.

The nanoreinforced walls were upgraded again. They were already extremely tough, but now they were strong enough to withstand even the shockwave of a small nuclear blast.

The system spoke again.

Reward: X2 draw. Total draw chances: X3.

BeepTwo highaggression native creatures detected. Form a contract?

Robin’s eyes flashed. Two panels appeared in front of her.

They belonged to Ruby and the big white goose.

Ruby’s trust level was 100%. The goose, however, only showed a small 20% trust level.

But what surprised Robin was something else. The goose’s aggression level was A, just one rank below Snowy.

Originally, Robin had bought the goose thinking it might become a snack someday. She never expected such a surprise.

A companion delivered right to her door? Why refuse?

Robin waved her hand without hesitation. Contract.

The moment she spoke, both Ruby and the goose suddenly doubled in size. Ruby had already been plump and wellfed. Now, her body bulged with thick muscle, and a fierce light appeared in her eyes.

As for the goose, he had always been arrogant. Now, after the upgrade, he looked even more proud. He puffed out his chest, and when he spread his wings, they stretched nearly seven feet wide.

Robin reached down and rubbed the goose’s head. You need a name.

She thought for a moment, then grinned. Since I originally bought you as emergency food, how about calling you Snack?

Alright, alright,Robin said with a laugh. I get it. Your name is Cotton.

Robin stretched out comfortably on the couch in the living room. Now it was time for the exciting partthe lucky draw.

She focused her mind. The huge spinning prize wheel appeared in her thoughts, still covered in a swirling mist.

Start the draw.

The wheel began spinning. After a few seconds, the pointer slowed and stopped.

Congratulations! Reward obtainedPhysical Enhancement!

Robin barely had time to react before a beam of golden light shot straight into her body.

In an instant, pain spread through her muscles. Her bones popped and cracked loudly, like fireworks going off inside her body.

The strange sensation lasted nearly 30 minutes before it slowly faded. When it was over, her body felt completely different.

Not only had she recovered the peak condition she had in her previous life, but she also felt even stronger than before. Right now, she felt like she could knock down a bull with one punch.

Keep going!she said immediately.
