[Do you think something bad is really about to happen? There are suddenly so many people biting others. It’s kind of scary.]
[At first, everyone thought these were just normal biting incidents.]
[Wait, could this actually be the beginning of an apocalypse?!]
[Honestly, I wish the world would just end already. Why keep living like this? I don’t even want one more day.]
[Same here.]
[I feel the same.]
[If people are biting each other on the street, does that mean school might be canceled tomorrow?]
[Yeah! What if I die on the way to class?!]
The comment section quickly turned into chaos. Even though the topic was trending everywhere, most people clearly weren’t taking it seriously.
After all, humanity had faced many crises before and survived them all.
Who would believe that one day a disaster like this could truly wipe everything out?
Robin set her phone aside. Then she casually pushed the rest of her snacks toward Ruby.
Ruby didn’t mind at all. She lowered her head and began eating happily, snorting as she chewed.
Robin absentmindedly scratched behind Ruby’s ear. Then a thought suddenly crossed her mind.
If Ruby was now her companion, she should be able to communicate with her. She could do that with Snowy.
So why had she never heard Ruby’s thoughts before?
Robin reached out and poked Ruby’s soft pink cheek with one finger. In her mind, she carefully called out, “Ruby?”
No response.

Robin didn’t give up. She poked again. And again. And again. Five times. Six times. Seven times. Eight times. Finally, on the ninth poke, Ruby snapped.
She lifted her piggy face with an annoyed huff. At the same moment, a sweet little girl’s voice suddenly rang inside Robin’s head. “Hey! What are you doing?!”
Robin was dumbfounded.
She gasped and almost rolled off the couch. “Ru–Ruby?!”
She had never imagined Ruby’s voice would sound like that.
It was soft and sweet, like a cute little girl speaking.
Ruby shook her head and grumbled unhappily. “I’ve been wanting to say this for a long time. I really don’t like that name. It sounds terrible.”
Robin blinked. “Huh?”
Princess Ruby snorted. “If it’s possible, can you call me princess?”
Robin stared at her. “What?”
Ruby let out a dramatic sigh.
“I knew you wouldn’t agree.” She paused, then spoke again in a hopeful tone. “Then, could give me that bow you don’t want?”
Robin frowned slightly. “Which one?”

Ruby stood up. Robin had no choice but to follow her. They had only just moved here, so some of the belongings hadn’t been organized yet. A small room on the first floor was still filled with random boxes and bags.
But Ruby moved as if she had planned this long ago. She dug through the pile with perfect accuracy and pulled out a small box. Then she nudged it toward Robin with her nose, clearly telling her to open it.
Robin followed the instructions with mixed feelings. Sure enough, inside the box was a soft pink bow.
Ruby tilted her head and looked at her. “You haven’t worn this in a long time.”
Robin understood immediately. With a complicated look on her face, she picked up the hair clip.
Ruby blinked at her. “Can you put it on for me?”

A pig’s hair was too short for a clip to stay in place. After trying for a moment, Robin had no choice but to fasten the bow to Ruby’s ear instead.
Ruby looked pleased. She even spoke politely. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Robin replied.
Elegant. Extremely elegant.
