End Times, Surviving with My Beastly Army novel Chapter 273

Chapter 273 Mercy Denied

“I’d heard it before,” Robin said, giving him a glance. “But you don’t qualify as a human being.

David shot back without thinking, “What? I-‘

He stopped mid-sentence, then realized what she had done. “You tricked me?”

“What’s there to trick?” Robin said coldly. “I’ll say this one last time. Leave. Right now.”

“You b…!”

David clenched his fists so tight his knuckles turned white. He hadn’t expected her to be this ruthless.

But the gap in strength was obvious. No matter how angry he was, he couldn’t do anything.

“Domingo, I’ll ask you one last time. Are you really making us leave?”

David stared straight into his eyes. “We’ve known each other for a long time. Even if we had our issues, I hope you can think this through.”

“I already have,” Domingo said calmly. “You want me to go easy on you? Then why didn’t you go easy on the regular people in the base?

“When you forced me to give up my spot as Commander, did you think about our history then? David, you betrayed me first.”

“Fine. Fine!”

David repeated the word over and over. His eyes swept across the crowd, filled with bitterness. “I hope one day you don’t regret the choice you made today. You all-come with me!”

Some of them hesitated. They wanted to stay.

But it was clear the base didn’t want them anymore.

“Otto…”

Isaac grabbed his sleeve, like he wanted to say something but couldn’t find the words.

Otto gave a bitter smile. “Isaac, I know what you’re trying to say. But I don’t have the right to stay here. I chose David back then. I can’t pretend nothing happened.

“You don’t know this, but I’ve always been jealous of you. Before everything went bad, I envied how smart you were. You were always better in school. Better at everything.

“After all this started, you got your ability earlier too. We were friends, sure, but I always felt like I was behind you. I didn’t want to fall too far back. But my pride wouldn’t let me say

“When David brought up his ideas, I didn’t fully agree. But I wanted to prove myself. Being around you, it always felt like I was second best. Even in daily life, you were always looking out

for me.

“I just wanted to step out of your shadow. That’s why I made that choice. And now…”

He let out a long breath. “Maybe this is my fate. Isaac, wish me luck. People don’t stay together forever. Maybe next time we meet, I’ll be a real powerhouse.”

Isaac gripped his wrist tightly but couldn’t say a word.

“Take care.”

Otto patted his shoulder and joked, “Don’t slack off. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get some crazy luck out there, like in those stories. Next time we meet, I might be the one way more powerful than you.”

“In your dreams.” Isaac punched him in the shoulder. “I’ll be waiting for that day.”

“Deal.”

They nodded, then pulled each other into a tight hug. After that, they went their separate ways.

As everyone watched them leave, the mood turned quiet.

Henry walked over, frowning. “Robin, you’re letting them go?”

He remembered clearly: David wasn’t a good man. Otto had trusted him so much, but David still used him as a human shield when things got bad.

Letting someone like that walk away, full of resentment and schemes, could bring trouble later.

Robin let out a small laugh. “I said he could leave. I never said he’d get to stay alive.”

Henry’s eyes snapped to hers.

Robin smiled calmly, then crooked her finger at Vivian.

Vivian skipped over, cheerful as ever.

Robin leaned in and whispered a few words. The more Vivian listened, the brighter her eyes got.
