Chapter 30 Someone Was Here
Ella felt a chill run through her heart. Her strength came from Hercules.
That power made her body incredibly strong. Her stamina and endurance were far beyond normal people. But she still couldn’t keep up with Robin?
The thought shocked her.
The three of them ran as fast as they could. With Robin leading the way, they rushed toward a hidden staff dorm building.
Robin kicked the door open. Then she spun around instantly. With two quick swings of her shovel, she knocked down the first few zombies charging toward them. Bang! She slammed the door shut.
The whole move happened so fast it made their heads spin.
Outside, horrible sounds filled the air. Zombies howled and clawed at the door. Something slammed against it again and again with dull, heavy thuds.
“For now, we’re safe,” Robin said calmly.
Only then did Dane finally collapse onto the floor. He was breathing hard, like a dog that had run ten miles.
Robin looked at him with clear disdain. “You’re a grown man,” she said. “You ran a little, and you’re already out of breath. Look at Ella. She’s not even sweating.”
Dane waved his hand weakly. “Ella’s a total freak. How am I supposed to compete with her?”
Ella blinked. “But you didn’t catch up to Ms. Robin either.”
Dane shut his mouth. Ella didn’t need to say it; he had noticed the same thing. Deep down, he was shocked.
They had been staying at Shangri–La for more than half a month now. But he still knew almost nothing about Robin.
She had never shown them her real strength. Still, the small glimpses she revealed from time to time were enough to make anyone uneasy.
“You two aren’t normal either,” Dane muttered. “Why compare me to you?”

He could only admit defeat. Dane had never imagined that one day his stamina would lose to
two young women.
So much for the natural physical advantage of men.
Since the apocalypse began, many things in the world have clearly changed.
“Ms. Robin, come look at this,” Ella suddenly called out.
She had been walking around the room, checking the place. Now she pointed at something in the corner and lowered her voice. “Look at this instant noodle cup. The soup inside hasn’t dried up completely.” She frowned slightly. “Does that mean someone else is still inside this building?”
At the bottom of the cup, a thin layer of oily broth still glistened. But the inside walls of the cup had been licked perfectly clean, so clean they almost shone.
Whoever ate that cup of noodles must have been starving.
Robin nodded. “There are a lot of signs people have been living here,” she said. “That means there are probably quite a few survivors around.”
Ella quickly covered her mouth. Her eyes darted around as she looked down the hallway.
The corridor was empty and completely silent. Not even the smallest sound could be heard.
Robin stayed alert and lowered her voice. “They’re probably hiding somewhere. Let’s move quietly.”
They were only passing through. None of them planned to stay here for long. As long as everyone kept their distance, there would be no trouble.
“The zombies might still be outside,” Robin continued. “Follow me. There’s a side exit over here.”
The layout of the dorm building was complicated. But Robin walked through it easily, like she was moving through her own home.
Ella followed behind her and asked curiously, “Ms. Robin, how do you know this place so well? Did you come to the zoo a lot before?”
“Not really,” Robin replied calmly. “I used to work at the zoo.”
Ella blinked. “Oh.”
The answer was surprising, but when she thought about it, it also made sense.

If Robin were just an ordinary person, she probably wouldn’t have chosen Shangri–La as her apocalypse base.
The three of them walked down a long hallway. They were about to turn a corner when- CLANG!
Dane reacted instantly and jumped back. A bucket full of bright red paint suddenly dropped from above!
