Chapter 336 Need to Fall Back

Someone snapped back in immediate despair. “We want to retreat too! But there’s no opening! Aah—”
His words had barely left his mouth before a spider’s razor–sharp leg drove clean through him from behind, pinning him brutally to the floor!
Run. Run!
That single thought was all that remained in every person’s mind. One by one, the faces around them vanished into the chaos, and every surviving nerve they had was stretched to the absolute breaking point.
In the madness of it all, not one of them noticed the unusual shadow weaving swiftly through the crowd… Robin had Sharon tucked under one arm and Dylan tucked under the other, and she swept through the entire granary at breathtaking speed, clearing out every scrap of provisions in her path!
“Load up as much as you can.”
Her eyes tracked everything around her at once. Sharon was being jostled so violently she could barely think straight, but she refused to forget her mission and shoved every provision she passed into her storage space.
Her storage space was already far larger than an average person’s, but the sheer volume of supplies in this granary was staggering.
It filled up in no time at all.
“What about you?” Robin asked.
The position was thoroughly undignified and not the least bit graceful, and Dylan honestly didn’t feel like speaking.
But his lips parted, and he finally forced the words out through gritted teeth. “There’s still… left…”
“Good.”
bit of room
Robin dropped Sharon off with Ella to protect, then scooped Dylan up in a full bridal carry and pressed deeper into the granary without missing a beat.
While everyone else was busy fighting spiders or desperately pressing toward the exit, she was charging forward with a gorgeous man in her arms and didn’t leave a single grain behind!
“Dane! Please, save me!” Donald screamed.
A giant spider was thundering after Donald.
Tears and snot streamed freely down Donald’s face, and the look he shot Dane was that of a man gazing upon his only salvation in this world.

Lightning crackled and blazed from Dane’s hands. His lightning ability was a rare and devastatingly powerful gift, but right now, even his mental strength was starting to buckle.
The rancid, fetid wind from behind was drawing closer with every passing second. Donald’s mental strength was nearly bone dry, and he wailed at the top of his lungs. “Dane! Use ice! Drive your ice spikes right into it!!”
Bruno had always been sharp–eyed and perceptive. Even now, with no time to dwell on anything, he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that the power Dane was displaying in this fight was nowhere near as staggering as what they’d witnessed the day before!
But what exactly had changed?
Bruno couldn’t work it out no matter how hard he thought, and Donald, meanwhile, was in full–blown panic. The rancid wind at his back was closing in fast, and with a desperate clench of his jaw, he grabbed the nearest person beside him and hauled them in front of himself as a shield.
“You…”
That person was from the Westfield Base. He’d already been pushed far past his limits by the spiders‘ relentless assault, and the absolute last thing he’d ever expected was a knife in the back from one of his own kind!
A razor–sharp spider leg punched clean through his heart. Deep crimson blood erupted in an instant, and it splashed all over Donald.
“If there’s a next life, I’ll repay you a thousand times over!” Donald called out, already running without a single backward glance.
“But in this life, we’re all just fighting to survive, and you understand that, right?”
Their numbers kept shrinking, and their strength kept bleeding away.
The concentrated firepower from the Redwood Military Base and the Vernon Base had at last managed to slow the spiders‘ encirclement to some small degree,
But it was only by the slimmest margin.
What was worse, their ammunition was nearly exhausted.
The brutal drain on their mental strength left the elemental ability users reeling and dizzy. Without their abilities to sustain them, their frail physical bodies simply couldn’t hold out any longer!
It was impossible to say which base had started it first, but every base except Redwood had begun abandoning their elemental ability users without any apparent coordination!
“Save me… please… Commander…”
A water ability user crumpled to the ground in utter exhaustion. A splitting headache tore through his skull, and with his body pressed flat against the floor, he could feel every tremor the ground sent rippling through him.
