Chapter 39 A Gun Changes Everything

But when Jessica handed over the child, Robin refused coldly, Do I look like some kind of fool?”

Huh?

Jessica froze, desperate as she begged, PleaseI’m begging you

Robin frowned. I’m not a babysitter. You should take care of your own child.

I’m notJessica tried to say more, but she suddenly went still halfway through her sentence!

What did Robin mean by this!?

Even Dane and Ella exchanged confused looks. They couldn’t figure her out.

Robin continued, Looks like I wasn’t wrong about you. You’re still worth helping.

She pulled Jessica aside, then stepped forward to face Max, looking him straight in the eyes. I don’t really like kids, so this child still needs to stay with her mom. Sorry, she’s not going anywhere with you.

Max’s face twisted into a snarl. Don’t push your luck! This is your last chance, or I’ll take all of you down!

Ella panicked. This wasn’t like Robin at all!

But Robin just chuckled. So what if you’ve got a gun?

What do you meanBefore Max could finish, his eyes went wide.

The girl across from him had pulled out a gun, too!

YouWhere did you get a gun?!he shouted.

And if he wasn’t mistaken, that had to be a QSG92 pistol from Secla.

QSG92 is ranked fifth among the world’s top ten handguns!

Dane, Ella, and Jessica stood behind, mouths open in shock.

She even has a gun!

Unbelievable!

No wonder Robin always stayed so calm. Her calmness didn’t come from luck. It came from real skill, real confidence.

Staring at the finely made pistol across from him, and then looking at his own crude, poorly made gun, Max’s breathing grew heavy.

This can’t be real!

His hand holding the gun was already shaking as he gritted out, It’s fake! Don’t think you can scare me

with a toy gun! I’m not falling for your tricks!

Really?Robin snorted, then suddenly pulled the trigger.

Bang!

The shot rang out, sharp and loud. Max screamed in pain, and the gun flew out of his hand. Blood poured from his wrist.

He clutched the wound, eyes wide with terror.

Who exactly is this woman!?

Her aim was deadly accurate. Her strike was decisive. And most terrifying of allin that instant, Max felt a familiar aura coming from her.

She’s like me. She has killed before!

And not just once!

Just then, a deafening roar echoed through the forest!

Rooaaar!!!

The roar ripped through the thick forest, deep and commanding. Leaves shook and rustled everywhere. Everyone felt dizzy, as if the sound was rattling their very bones.

It wasn’t just loudit hit straight at the soul, pure raw power of the wild. A few of the weaker ones couldn’t take ittheir knees buckled, and they fell to the ground with a thud.

Jessica swayed on her feet, her voice trembling. It’s that tiger!

Ella’s ears perked up at the word. What tiger? Which one?

Jessica forced herself to speak despite her fear. There’s a white tiger nearby. It got out of its cage. At first, we had locked the zombies up and were planning to send people out each day to search other buildings for supplies. But that tiger keeps roaming around here, so no one dares to leave.

Ella instinctively looked at Robin.

Robin’s gaze seemed to notice something. She focused on a direction in the distance.

Everyone followed her eyes and gasped. From the thick green bushes far away, a massive white tiger appeared, casually stepping forward as if on a leisurely stroll. It was at least six and a half feet long, covered in striking blackandwhite stripes.

Unlike ordinary tigers, it didn’t just have white fur. It had eyes that shone like gold.
