End Times. Surviving with My Beastly Ariny
Chapter 75 A Choice of Paths
“No need,” Robin said, shaking her head. “Keep the supplies. But I want to ask–Ozzie, do you want to come with me?”
Oscar’s parents had just relaxed. Now their nerves snapped tight again.
A psychic ability user.
Even in her past life, Robin had only seen a few. People like that were rare and powerful. And right now, there was one standing in front of her, still young and untrained. Of course she didn’t want to waste that kind of talent.
“What do you mean?” Oscar’s father asked, his voice shaky.
Was she trying to take their only child?
Robin paused, then shook her head. “Never mind. What are you planning to do next?”
The kid had parents. She couldn’t just take him away. And honestly, she wasn’t interested in taking the whole family either.
Her question made everyone fall silent.
This place wasn’t safe anymore. After what just happened, they finally understood hiding all the time wouldn’t work.
That was just one Level 2 zombie, and it had already pushed them to this point.
What if more showed up? Or worse–Level 3 or Level 4? What then?
Are we just going to sit around and wait to die?
“If you don’t know where to go,” Robin said calmly, “I can suggest a place.”
“Where? Please tell us!”
“Redwood Military Base.”
“The military base?!”
“Where is it? Is it near Klamath?”
“Does that mean the government is finally stepping in?!”
The group burst into excited chatter.
The news about Redwood Military Base had only been shared over radio broadcasts. These days, not many people carried radios around. So most of them had never heard about it.
Now, hearing it for the first time, it felt like a light in the dark. Hope.
Robin turned to Leland. “Stop following me. They’re heading to Redwood too. You can go with them.”

Chapter 75 A Choice of Paths
“I’m not going!”
But this time, Leland suddenly changed his mind. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m sticking with you!”
No way.
He had seen what Robin could do. Staying with someone like her? That was the safest bet he could ask for.
Just now, that zombie had been terrifying, yet she took it down without even blinking. Leland was sure of this; staying by her side had to be safer than going to that military base.
Hearing him say that, a few others snapped out of their thoughts. They stepped forward carefully. “We don‘ want to go to the military base. Can we go with you instead?”
Robin let out a short laugh. “Helping you was my choice. That doesn’t mean you get to stick to me.”
The man who had just spoken flushed red. But he didn’t back down. He wanted to get stronger.
This woman was powerful. He wanted to be like her.
Someone quickly grabbed his arm. “Why follow them? Didn’t you hear? There’s a military base. That has to be safer. We should go there!”
“Yeah, don’t overthink it. You don’t even have any skills. They might just see you as dead weight.”
But others felt the same as the young man. “Go to the base for protection?” one person said. “In this world, I don’t want to rely on anyone. The only real safety is being able to protect yourself.”
“Yeah, I’m not going either.”
A young girl stepped forward. “I don’t want to be the one who needs saving anymore. Starting today, I want to protect others too.”
Her eyes were red. Just last night, her parents had succumbed to the zombie attack while attempting to shield her.
She couldn’t do anything. She could only watch. If she ever got another chance, she wanted to be someone who could protect herself and others.
She looked at Robin, her gaze firm. “Miss, I don’t want to go to the base. Can I come with you? I swear I won’t slow you down. If I’m in danger, you don’t have to save me. I just don’t want to hide behind others anymore.”
“Me too!”
