Chapter 80 Waiting for the Kill
“I–L…
The man swallowed hard. “It’s too dark. I could only make out about four people. I don’t know where th came in from.”
“Useless!”
Ronald shoved him aside, furious. He had been eyeing the supermarket on the basement level for a long time.
But there were too many zombies inside, and his group was too weak. Before, he had forced a few people to form a team and go in for supplies. They didn’t last five minutes, All of them died.
Since then, he hadn’t dared try again.
Still, there were so many supplies in there. Walking away from it just didn’t sit right with him. So he had people guarding the entrance.
If he couldn’t get the supplies, then no one else would either.
But he never expected someone to sneak in without making a sound.
“They’ve got some nerve, going after what I’ve claimed,” Ronald growled. “They must have a death wish.”
He grabbed a steel pipe nearby. He was going to teach those people a lesson.
“Hold on.”
Just as he stood up, a lazy voice spoke from behind him.
Ronald’s face tightened for a second, but he quickly smoothed it over and turned around. “Dylan. What is it?”

In the corner, a young man dressed in black sat on the floor. One leg was crossed, the other boat. His arm rested casually on his knee. He looked completely relaxed.
Dylan Water straightened a little and spoke in a calm, lazy tone. “Mr. Savage, if they’re not afraid to die. why not let them go in?”
A sharp look flashed in Ronald’s eyes. “You want me to give up the supplies?”
“Of course not.”
Dylan smiled. “If they managed to sneak in, they’ve got some skill. So why don’t we let them do the hard work and we take the reward?”
Ronald narrowed his eyes. “You mean.
“If they’re after the supplies, let them take them. Dylan said “If they fail that’s the problem. But if they succeed, then it beceroes our gain

lit up instantly.
Even if they guarded the place, they still couldn’t get the supplies themselves. So why not let someone else do it?
“Hahaha!”
He burst out laughing. “Good, Dylan. That’s a smart plan. Everyone, with me–grab your weapons!”
He grinned coldly. “They think they can walk into my territory and walk out alive? Let’s see if they’ve got what it takes. As long as they come out, we strike.”
Ronald led his group out in a loud, showy march. He didn’t notice that behind him, the young man named Dylan curled his lips into a faint, knowing smile.
The skinny man stayed crouched in the corner. Suddenly, a hand reached out and gently helped him up.
盞
He looked up in surprise.
It was the same woman who had been massaging Ronald’s shoulders earlier.
“Are you okay?” she asked, a little worried.
The skinny man gave a bitter smile. “I’m fine.”
But only he knew Ronald had clearly wanted to kill him.
The woman frowned. “You shouldn’t have said that.”
“But I was just flattering him,” he said, confused.

She shook her head. “You don’t get it. Before the apocalypse, Ronald was a useless gambler. He had so skill, and his luck was terrible. He lost all his family’s savings. Even his family house was gone. Asid he still owed a mountain of debt.” She paused, then added, “When you brought up the time before all this, it sounded like you were humilating him.
The woman went on, “And you think he’s winning now because he’s good? No. It’s because no one here can beat him. They’re all letting him win on purpose.”
The supermarket was filthy and wrecked. Robin lowered the beam of her flashlight to the weakest setting, In the dim light, they could just make out shadows moving inside. Zombies. They shuffled slowly, arms hanging limp, drifting around like machines.
