that was the last one?
“Are you blind? You idiot! She’s clearly just messing with you!”
“We told you to come with us to the base, but you wouldn’t listen. Now look at you–played like fools. If you had listened earlier, you wouldn’t be in this mess!”
Jerome was upset too, but something didn’t sit right with him. He didn’t think Robin was that kind of
person.
In his eyes, she was strong–truly strong. Someone like her wouldn’t waste time playing games like this.
And sure enough, the next second, Robin turned sharply toward Warren. Her voice went cold. “The final test is to kill him.”
“What?!”
Warren’s face went pale.
“You’re not serious, right?”
“Do I look like I’m joking?”
“But what right do you have to do this? You said killing two zombies would be enough! Fine, maybe my methods weren’t clean, but in a world like this, anyone who still believes in playing fair is just a fool!”
“You’re not entirely wrong,” Robin said flatly. “The people under me can be cunning. They can lie, cheat, and do whatever it takes. They can even be ruthless.”
“Then I-”
“But there’s one rule!”
Her voice
rose sharp and cutting. Her eyes locked onto him.
“All of that i

Her gaze hardened. “Someone like you? I won’t take that risk.”
“I..”
Warren gritted his teeth and took two steps back. “Fine. Then I quit. I won’t follow you anymore. I’ve thought it through–I’ll just go with them to the military base.”
Robin didn’t even look at him again. Instead, she turned to Jerome and the others, her expression cold. “Well? Are you waiting for me to do it for you?”

Then, without hesitation, all five of them swung their weapons down on him at once.
Warren’s desperate screams grew weaker and weaker–until, at last, they stopped completely.
“Boss!”
Steven planted his steel pipe on the ground. His eyes were bright. “Did we pass the final test?”
On the ground, Warren lay there with his eyes wide open, full of unwillingness. Blood seeped from his nose and mouth. He wasn’t breathing anymore.
“You all did well.” Robin smiled, and this time it was sincere.
“Welcome to the team. I
promise you this–you won’t regret the choice you made today.”

Maybe for the others, her conditions really had been hard.
But for Dylan, they were nothing.
Because of his special condition, zombies barely noticed him at all. They didn’t even try to attack him. Finishing the first task had been almost effortless.
