Fuming, Isla logged back onto social media to see how bad the damage was.
The first thing she saw was Sebastian's post.
As she read every word he wrote, massive tears tracked down her face.
Why was he so blindly devoted to her?
They had already broken up! Why was he publicly throwing himself at her feet? She wouldn't even acknowledge him! It was pathetic.
Robert and Margaret exchanged a worried glance when they heard her sobbing. What exactly had she seen?
Margaret walked over, glanced at the screen, and blanched. She saw Sebastian's confession, followed by the vicious, unrelenting cyber-mob tearing her daughter to pieces.
Robert’s chest heaved with rage. "That Remington boy is a worthless traitor! And to think we wanted to merge our families. He threw you under the bus before the ink was even dry on an engagement. How could we ever rely on him?"
"He's just brainwashed by her!" Isla sobbed, snapping back at her father.
"You... you've completely lost your mind!" Robert shouted, turning to his wife. "You talk to her!"
Margaret couldn't bear to see her daughter in so much pain. She sat beside her, keeping her voice soft. "Sweetheart, this is what they call being delusional. Sebastian is ruthless and entirely ungrateful. He doesn't deserve your devotion. What do you even see in him?"
"If love needed a logical reason, it wouldn't be love!" Isla fired back. All her life, the adults had joked about her and Sebastian being soulmates, an arranged match made in heaven. Now, suddenly, they were changing their tune?
