Chapter 99

AMELIA’s pov

“Well, that was eventful.” I said to Ryder as we made our way back to our pack land.

“You can say that again.” Ryder said, placing a hand around my shoulder, “We’ve formed new alliances, and both Camille and Jasper were thrown out on their arses. Safe to say that was quite satisfying.”

“I agree.” I said, absentmindedly leaning into his embrace, “But now that we’ve got the allegiance of the starlight pack, where do we go from here?”

The Starlight Alpha’s allegiance is one thing. But there are other forces to assemble. My parents are calling in their best troops, and I suppose I need to do the same.”

I nodded slowly, “Do you have the right set of people in mind?”

“I most definitely do. He said confidently, “And once we get home, I’m going to reach out to each and every one of them.”

“I hope and pray their responses are favorable.”

And most of their responses were indeed positive. Some of the others, despite wanting to help us, still had their reservations about whether Noah was an evil child or not.

So Ryder did the best thing he could do. He deliberately gathered all of his allies so they could see Noah for themselves. “Are you scared?” I asked Noah, before he had to face Ryder’s allies.

Noah shook his head, “They just need to see that I’m a good boy, so I’ll show them just that.” He said calmy, and I crouched down and hugged him close to my chest.

He was growing up on me, way too quickly.

“Alright, they are ready for him.” Ryder came to inform me a little while later, and we went out into the courtyard to meet his allies.

“This is Noah, my puppy and my heir!” Ryder announced when we stood in front of a countless number of them. They were all so eager to meet Noah, despite all the horrible things that had been said about him.

“He was carried and birthed by my Luna, Amelia. See now for yourself that my puppy is not a taboo, but a normal werewolf child.”

Some rose and craned their necks to actually get a better look.

“There is nothing evil about my puppy, despite what you’ve been led to believe.” Ryder roared, “In fact, he might even be a descendant of the Moon goddess.”

Loud gasps escaped the lips of those present.

“What makes you think he is a descendant of the moon goddess?” Someone called out and Ryder smiled confidently: “Because he is special. He’s only a few months old but he has grown so rapidly that he looks like a five year old. He can speak articulately and is very in tune with his emotions and those around him. He lacks aggression despite what he’s been through at such a tender age, and may 1 add? He possesses powerful healing abilities that no child in all the packs has ever possessed.”

That did it for the crowd They stared at Noah with new eyes. The ones who were once afraid of him, no longer looked afraid

Rather, they now stared at him with awe.

So I ask again, will you join us? Or would you rather side with the enemy?” Ryder called out and we waited.

Soon enough, the alphas of each pack rose and stepped forward to pledge their allegiance to Ryder.

“My pack and I will join you in this battle.” The first Alpha said, “Nothing else makes more sense, if you ask me

Ryder smiled briefly and looked at the other Alphas stepping forward.

“The puppy’s gifts are remarkable. I hope that by joining you, we might be able to benefit from his gifts.” Another Alphasand and some other Alphas agreed to that notion.

“The puppy’s gifts are wonderful, I agree. But I’m pledging my allegiance to you because the last thing we all need is for Jasper’s evil influence to spread more than it already has.” Another said, and I nodded.

“It’s a wise choice. Not so long ago, he and Camille captured innocent wolves in order to extract and steal their energy, just to strengthen their own. Jasper won’t stop until we actually take him down.

“Then I’ve chosen well.” The alpha said, and I could see the trace of fear in his eyes.

After they’d all pledged their allegiance, and walked back to their seats, Ryder turned to me, a confident smile on his face. “You did it. You convinced them.” I said and I shook my head.

“I just did a bit of talking, they only had to see the gift Noah is, for themselves.” He reached out and squeezed Noah’s cheek. before turning to look at me. His gaze was so reassuring and gentle.
