Verything Was a Deal Until Divorce

Chapter 130 Not Worth My $100

The night outside was heavy and still. The shadows in brian’s eyes deepened, blending him into the darkness, a quiet weight hanging over him.

Arden took the gift box and walked out. The wind had picked up.

Dorian saw her come out and moved too. Lucien had already pulled the car to the entrance.

Dorian leaned against the door.

The white shirt was tucked in neatly, sleeves rolled up just enough. The wind tugged gently at the fabric. He flicked a lighter between his fingers, expression unreadable.

The moment Arden stepped outside, she spotted himbroad shoulders, narrow waist.

Whatever else could be said, the man looked good. That was a fact. His whole posture was relaxed, but there was an edge to himwild, untamed. People walking out of the restaurant couldn’t help but steal a glance.

A few girls even blushed and tried to approach him for his number, only to be blocked coldly by Lucien.

Arden glanced at the gift box in her hand, then kept walking. Dorian heard her heels approaching but didn’t look. He sat down in the car.

Lucien opened the door for Arden.

Maybe it was the lighting, or maybe it was his expression, but Arden didn’t notice the tension in Dorian’s face.

She sat down, looked over, and handed him the box. Mr. Vale, Miss Luce asked me to give this to you. It’s a watch. She said she likes you.

Dorian rolled down the window. The streetlight cast a glow into the car.

Half his face was in shadow. His eyes burned quietly beneath the surface. One hand rested on the edge of the window, cigarette between his fingers, unlit.

He didn’t even blink. Arden, who told you it was okay to accept gifts on my behalf?

She likes you. It’s from a fan.

Dorian gave a short laugh. Very generous of you.

Then, without hesitation, he grabbed the box from her hands and tossed it right out the window.

So fast that Arden froze. Dorian, that was expensive! Couldn’t you at least check what kind of watch it was before throwing it out? She gave it to you.”

So what? Just because someone gives me something, I’m supposed to keep it?

The same hand that wore a milliondollar watch pulled back inside. The other hand clicked the lighter.

With a soft click, a blue flame sparked to life. Dorian lit the cigarette and took a drag, the ember glowing faintly in the dark.

Smoke drifted through the cabin. Arden frowned and waved her hand lightly. She didn’t like the smell, even

if it was high end tobacco.

Dorian noticed and glanced down at the cigarette, then nuffed it our and flicked it away

Outside the car, Mira had seen everything

She ran over, picked up the gift box, then crouched by the window Dorian, I gave that to you

Yeah.

Why’d you throw it away?

Finished

He didn’t even look at her. I already have watches. And trust me, if I want another, I’ll have someone ! actually care about get it for me.

Before Mira could respond, Dorian looked away and said coolly, Lucien, drive

Yes, sir.

Lucien stepped on the gas, exhaust smoke blowing in Mira’s face. Arden was speechless.

Dorian finally turned to her. Arden, from now on, don’t accept gifts for me. And don’t pass messages either.

Got it.

He looked over. Light from the streetlamps filtered through the trees, casting shadows across her face. Her skin looked pale against the glow.

He said, If you think I’m short on watches, you could always buy me one.”

Arden turned to him like he was nuts. Mr. Vale, you wear limited editions that cost millions. I just started working. I’d need to skip food and sleep for five hundred years before I could afford one.

I’d wear it even if it only cost a hundred. As long as it’s from you.

Arden stared. No way. I wouldn’t even get you a cartoon watch that costs ten.

Dorian gritted his teeth. Arden, why are you so stingy?

Because you’re not worth it. I’d rather spend that hundred bucks on my brother.

Dorian was speechless. You were into me for over three years. Was that fake?

You’re the one who said it was in the past, Mr. Vale.

What did feelings even get her? Wasted time and heartbreak.

Dorian figured maybe he was asking for it. Why was he suddenly so affected by all this? Maybe because when he was sick, she sat up with him all night. No one had ever done that. She’d even cooked him sobering soup herself.

That warmththat kind of carehe missed it more than he wanted to admit.

He liked the way she looked when she was calm, when she was softwhen she was herself.

Out of nowhere, he asked, Arden, do I look good in white today?

You’ve got a great face. Your’d look gond in anything

Then why not compliment me?

Arden glanced over. He wasn’t drink, but he was definitely in a weird mood.

She gave him a slow onceover. What kind of compliment are you fishing for, exactly? Charming and graceful? Suave and refined? Devilishly handsome? A waking fantasy?
