Chapter 220 The One You Can’t Touch
Martin clapped Ares on the shoulder. “Ares. Didn’t expect to see you here.”
Finished
Ares calmly dusted off the spot Martin had touched. “I’m pretty sure Dorian didn’t invite you. So what’s the deal, Martin? Crashing?”
Back at Harold’s birthday party, Martin had tried to drug Arden. Ares hadn’t forgotten–he’d been itching to knock him out ever since.
Martin smirked.
“Come on, we’re family friends. Your grandpa and mine go way back. No way we’d miss Celine’s birthday bash.”
Dorian gave him a cool look. “Today’s Celine’s eighteenth. Her coming–of–age. Don’t mess it up.”
Martin spread his hands. “Relax. I brought a gift and everything.”
Dorian didn’t bother replying. He turned and walked off. Ares followed.
Just then, Cassian, Theo, Damon, and Barry rolled in, all dressed to the nines. It was a solid lineup of second–generation elites.
From across the lawn, Cassian called out, “Dorian!”
As he walked over, Cassian looked around. “Where’s Celine?”
“Getting her makeup done. You know how she is.”
Theo let out a whistle. “That girl could roll out of bed and still look like a movie star.”
Barry scanned the crowd. “Where’s Ruby? She’s not here?”
Ares shot him a side glance. Barry didn’t notice. Dorian saw it though and answered, “She’s with Celine. They’re getting ready. Celine had dresses tailored for all of them.”
Barry lit up. “Can’t wait to see her all dressed up. She’s a knockout.”
Cassian raised a brow. “Someone’s got a thing for Ruby?”
“Ran into her once in Eloria,” Barry said, smiling like a man in a dream. “Absolute goddess.”
Cassian exchanged a quick glance with Damon and Theo. They all knew about Ruby and Ares.
Cassian patted Barry on the back. “Listen, man. Ruby’s not easy. If you’re falling for her. tread carefully She’s already taken.”
Barry blinked. “She told me she was single.”
Theo stepped up, smirking. “Yeah, well, the guy who’s into her isn’t just anyone. He’s someone you don’t
want to cross,”

Ares kept his head down, casually flicking the cap of his lighter. Barry frowned. “Wait, so someone’s af her?”
Damon chimed in. “Let it go. Ruby’s not your playground.”
Dorian side–eyed Ares, still stone–faced and silent. You’d never guess what was going on in his head.
Wanting to shift the mood, Dorian turned to Damon.
“Isla here yet? Celine said if she shows up, just send her to her room. Arden and Ruby are already there
“Yeah, Arden called her as soon as she got here. They’re probably all upstairs now.”
The group headed into the house.
Upstairs, the girls were finishing up makeup and hair. It took another hour to get completely ready, but party hadn’t started yet–it wasn’t even six.
Celine, being the star of the night, had the most attention–grabbing look. Arden, Ruby, and Isla kept it lowkey with softer makeup and simpler dresses.
Celine’s dress, however, was something else.
A one–of–a–kind custom design from a world–renowned stylist, commissioned by Dorian himself. It had taken a year to make. Elegant, ethereal, and jaw–droppingly expensive.

When she stepped out onto the second–floor landing, the whole room below turned to look.
Her makeup was flawless as she scanned the crowd, eyes searching for one face–Cassian.
Luckily, he was easy to spot–tall, polished, and unmistakably handsome, walking in just then with Dorian and the rest.
Theo looked up first and saw the four of them—Celine, Arden, Ruby, and Isla–lined up like a photoshoot Princess. Vixen, Sweetheart. Wildcard. Every flavor on display.
“Check it out,” he said. “That’s it. No one else stands a chance tonight. You think any of these guys are gonna sleep with all that eye candy stuck in their heads?”
Across the hall, the sons and daughters of elite families were already staring Cassian looked up. His eyes. locked with Celine’s–bright, hopeful, glowing-
