Everything was a deal until divorce novel Chapter 247

Chapter 247 Regret

No.

The answer was firm, no hesitation.

Dorian looked at him. Fine. If you won’t buy it, someone else will.”

Areseyes were dark. He didn’t respond, just pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

Dorian turned back toward the entrance of the residential complex.

By the gate, Ruby, Isla, Celine, Barry, Cassian, Theo, and Damon had all arrived.

When the group saw Dorian holding a bouquet of red roses, the reaction was immediate disbelief.

Cassian spoke up lazily, Dorian, what is this, hell freezing over? You buying roses now?

Arden hurriedly explained, They’re not from him. Noah bought them.

Noah stood beside Arden, relaxed and wellmannered, and glanced at the roses in Dorian’s arms.

The man running Vale Group definitely has feelings for Arden. That much is obvious.

Finished

Theo clicked his tongue. What a shame. I thought we were finally seeing Mr. Vale discover romance. Turns out the flowers are from Noah, not him.”

Dorian swept his gaze over them and stayed silent.

Celine pouted and muttered under her breath, Seriously. My brother’s about as romantic as a brick.

Married for years and never once bought his wife flowers.

Romance clearly had nothing to do with either her brother or Ares.

Ruby glanced at Dorian, then at Ares, and finally at the red roses. Her eyes lingered for a second before she calmly looked away.

Both men were the same. Cold. Emotionally tonedeaf.

Ares happened to be watching Ruby and caught that look, one filled with quiet confirmation, like she’d expected nothing else.

He glanced at the roses. He’d never given flowers to anyone.

Over the years, Ruby had chased him relentlessly, and she’d given him flowers more times than he could

count.

Barry noticed Ruby staring at the roses for a little too long. Do you like red roses?he asked.

He was already halfready to go buy some.

Ruby shook her head, her tone flat. No.

Finished

Barry stopped in his tracks. Ares had heard the exchange. He looked at the roses again.

Ruby had once told him she liked bold, fully bloomed roses, flowers that burned bright and unapologetic.

Now she said she didn’t like them. She was probably just tired of being disappointed.

He took a hard drag from his cigarette. The ember flared bright red, briefly warming the darkness in his eyes before fading again.

He lowered his gaze and looked away.

Seeing that Dorian stubbornly refused to put the flowers down, Arden didn’t argue. She simply motioned for everyone to head inside.

Cassian jogged up beside Dorian and clapped him on the shoulder. So, what’s going on with you?

He glanced at Noah and Vincent flanking Arden and let out a knowing sound. Seeing Arden surrounded by her own personal bodyguards, you getting jealous?

Theo loved chaos and leaned right into it. Jealous of what? They’re divorced. Arden finding someone suitable and starting a new romance is totally normal, isn’t it?

Ares cut in calmly, Youtwo should shut up.

Dorian kept his eyes on Arden walking ahead. Let them talk.

Cassian and Theo exchanged a look and stopped.

They knew better. When Dorian said that, it meant he was already on edge.

Since it was their first visit, and Arden was their good friend’s sister, Cassian and Theo had brought gifts.

Arden opened the door and led everyone inside.

The apartment was spotless and warm, decorated simply but comfortably. A vase of lilies sat on the living room table.

Make yourselves at home,Arden said. I’ll get you water. I didn’t expect this many people, so there aren’t enough house slippers. Just come in.

She bent down to change her shoes, then carried the flowers over to the table and pulled out two empty vases, preparing to arrange them.

Arden, should we put the crabs and shrimp in the kitchen? Where is it?Noah asked.

Oh, the kitchen. Follow me.

She set the vases down and led Noah inside. Still thinking about the flowers, Arden came back to the living room. Noah followed her out.
