Everything Was a Deal Until Divorce
Chapter 90 Every Word I Remember
Her eyes were nearly drinking him in.
Dorian pulled out the chair across from her and sat down. “You been waiting long?”
“Just got here.”
He picked up the menu. “Order what you want. My treat.”
Finished
Her heart was pounding. She reached for the menu and ordered a cappuccino, then slid it back over. “What about you, Mr. Vale?”
“Just an iced Americano.”
He didn’t even have to call anyone over. A server came right up. “Mr. Vale, ready to order?”
“Yeah.”
They took the menus and walked off. At the next table, Clark whispered, “She just called him Mr. Vale. She barely even knows him.”
Talia nodded. “He doesn’t look like he’s here for a date. Cold as ever.”
Arden kept her head down, reading the menu. “What do you guys want?”
They each rattled off their drink orders. She didn’t care what Dorian and Lacey were talking about. Not even a little. She stood up. “I’m gonna run to the restroom.”
“Go ahead. Coffee’ll be here when you’re back.”
Just as she walked away, Dorian asked across the table, “Why’d you refuse the five million?”
“Saving you was something I did willingly. It didn’t take much. I don’t need money for that.”
The coffee arrived. Dorian stirred his slowly with a spoon, looking distant. “Can you tell me the details from that night? What did I say to you?”
Lacey froze. Vivienne had told her a lot. But she wasn’t the real girl from Northmere. She didn’t know what he’d actually said.
“Mr. Vale, it’s been so long. I don’t really remember…”
Dorian narrowed his eyes slightly. “Really?”
He took a slow sip from his cup. “Because I remember every single word between us.”
Lacey started to panic. She gripped her cup tighter and dropped her gaze. Dorian’s voice dropped, sharp and cold. “In that hotel room that night, I kissed you. Do you remember that?”
“Y–yeah. I remember.”
He kissed her? That had to mean something, right? Her nerves eased up a little. Dorian’s gaze darkened. “I

also slept with you.”
She nearly choked on her coffee.
“Well, you’d been drugged. Helping you… I was honored.”
Finished
Dorian’s expression went cold. He’d never slept with the real girl. He remembered holding her–how she trembled in his arms, scared out of her mind. She told him, straight up, that she was underage.
Lacey wasn’t that girl. And if she was claiming to be, someone had clearly put her up to it.
Who? Who was behind her? A rival? Someone from Soutaria?
He didn’t let any of that show. He kept the act going. “If you don’t want the check, Miss Wren, what do you want?”
“I want nothing. It was an honor just to help you.”
The ice in Dorian’s tone was creeping out again. His entire aura shifted, heavy with unspoken power. Lacey felt it. She could barely breathe.
“Doesn’t that make you want to marry into the Vale family?”
Of course she did. She’d dreamed about it. But she couldn’t admit that to his face. Not when she wasn’t even the real girl.
“It was so long ago. I figured you’d forgotten.”
Dorian pulled out a lighter, lit a cigarette, and took a drag. “You’re an actress, right?”
“Yes.”
“Well then. I’m not heartless. If you won’t take the money, I’ll talk to a director I know. I’ll get you two lead roles.”
Lacey was stunned. She wasn’t even on the C–list, and now he was offering her lead roles?
If she nailed one of them, she could blow up. Finally break free from the Wren family. “Thank you, Mr.
Vale.”
He saw the joy in her eyes and smiled coolly. “I’ve got work to do. You can go.”
Lacey gave him one last look–like she was trying to memorize every feature. “Goodbye, Mr. Vale.”
He didn’t even look up. Meanwhile, at the other table, Talia and Clark were barely holding it together.
Arden missed it all while in the restroom–but Talia and/Clark caught every word.
Especially that one line from Dorian. “I slepth with you.”
Holy. Shit.
Clark’s eyes were wide. “Wait, Mr. Vale slept with that girl?”

Talia was already leaning in, whispering fast, “I thought the guy was celibate or secretly gay. Turns out he did sleep with her. He just said it! With his own mouth!
“He tried to pay her five million to shut up, but she turned it down. Girl’s obviously aiming for something way bigger.”
Arden didn’t react at all. Of course. Of course he protected her at the auction. Accused her without even asking questions. He slept with her. He’s dirty.
Clark shrugged like it was nothing. “Come on. A guy like Mr. Vale? Rich, powerful, young–he’s at his peak. It’d be weird not to sleep around.”
