Ex-Wife Moving Wife Giving Birth? Congratulations, You’re Single Now novel Chapter 28

Chapter 6

The last thread of contact was severed. Ryan sat there, frozen, unable to process what had just happened.

Avia had thrown tantrums before.

When things got really bad, she’d even leave the house.

But every single time, she made a big scene about itand she always left breadcrumbs, ways for him to find her.

Not to mention the photos.

Over the years, she’d treated them like treasures, personally dusting and organizing them every so often.

As the alcohol wore off, Ryan broke into a cold sweat.

He scrambled out of bed and stumbled toward the bathroom

Sure enough, the card was still in his jacket pocketSavannah had picked it up and put it there for safekeeping.

He called his assistant to check the balance. Every cent was accounted for. In fact, there was *more* than what he’d

given her at the engagement.

The transfer came from Foster Financial Group’s account.

This was Leland Foster’s blatant provocation.

He stole Ryan’s fiancéeand even paid him back like a goddamn king.

*What gives him the right?!*

When they were kids, Leland had been the golden child everyone compared Ryan to. He’d practically grown up in

Leland’s shadow.

As an adult, the girl he liked idolized Leland.

And now, the one girl who’d only ever had eyes for *him*-Leland had taken her too.

Avia used to love him so much.

He thought she’d never leave. So he got reckless, desperate to hold onto the elusive Savannah.

She was the dream he could never reach. He just wanted to grasp hereven for a momentto finally put that

obsession to rest.

Blinded by desire, he forgot about the person who’d been supporting him all along.

And now, the’d turned to someone else.

How dare she?He wouldn’t allow it

Ryan grabbed the first shirt he could find, threw it on, snatched his car keys, and bolted for the door.

Savannah, who’d just rushed over, blocked his path

Where are you going?

For the first time, he had no patienceeven for her.

Don’t worry about it.

Savannah sighed, her voice soft and yielding

You’re still recovering from last night. If you’re really going to see her, let me drive you.

Ryan paused. He looked down.

I’m sorry.

He realized his tone had been too harsh.

Savannah shook her head and reached for the keys in his handbut he pulled away.

If she sees you, it’ll just make things worse.

I’ll take a cab.

He said it quickly, dropped the keys, and left.

Savannah couldn’t stop him. Just like Avia hadn’t been able to stop him before.

But unlike Avia, she couldn’t afford to leave in anger.

Onlookers see things clearly. Ryan’s heart already belonged to someone else now.

If she walked away again like she had all those years ago, he wouldn’t give her a second chance to come back.

I’m afraid I’m going to disappoint you.

Before the person on the other end could respond, she hung up.

She pulled out her SIM card, snapped it cleanly in half, and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

Chapter 6

The autumn wind was biting. Ginkgo leaves blanketed the ground.

Savannah walked into the office building.

The HR manager stopped her to discuss severance.

That’s when she found outon his way to find Avia, Ryan had also managed to fire her.

He wanted to prove his loyalty to the woman he’d lost. And she was the first sacrifice.

When she’d rejected Ryan all those years ago and left the country with someone else, it wasn’t because she didn’t love him.

She just thought that someone like Ryana trustfund kid surrounded by temptationwould eventually get bored of

her.

Rather than be abandoned and bitter, she chose to be the woman he could never have.

But all her scheming meant nothing. Whether she wanted it or not, circumstances had forced her back to his sideonly to watch this exact scenario unfold before her eyes.

**[Ryan, I need to talk to you.]**

The message bounced back with a red exclamation mark.

He’d blocked her too.

Even more thoroughly than she’d done to him back then.

Savannah laughed bitterly.

You’re all going to regret this.

She thought she’d been calm enough.

But in that moment, she couldn’t help herself. She ripped off her employee badge and slammed it onto the desk.

She didn’t take a single thing with her. She walked out of the building emptyhanded.
