Fake Daughter Is The Real Legend (Iris Sutton) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134 Wrong Car

Finished

While they were still in the limousine, Iris had instructed Bella to book a ride using her live location.

What she hadn’t expected…

…was for Bella to somehow send a Bentley.

Or had Bella misunderstood and simply arranged for a luxury car to pick her up?

There wasn’t time to think about it.

Getting into the car came first.

After resting for a few minutes, Iris hoisted Stella onto her back again and headed toward the road where the black Bentley would soon pass.

It took Jack’s group a considerable amount of time to stop their out–of–control limousine.

By the time they began searching the area in frustration, Iris had already put a substantial distance between them.

The gang boss’s reinforcements arrived quickly.

More and more men spread through the surrounding wilderness.

“Miss Noir…” Stella groaned weakly after being carried for so long. “What do we do now?”

Using a sturdy branch as a walking stick, Iris continued forward with steady, even breathing despite carrying another adult on her back.

“They’re here.”

Her eyes fixed on the approaching vehicle.

The black Bentley gradually slowed before finally coming to a stop a short distance away.

Stella’s eyes lit up.

“It stopped! Hurry!”

A young man in an impeccably tailored business suit stepped out from the driver’s seat and frowned as he inspected one of the tires.

Iris glanced over her shoulder. Their pursuers hadn’t caught up yet.

The young man looked puzzled. The car had been running perfectly just moments ago, so why had it suddenly stalled? As far as he could tell, there was nothing wrong with the tires.

“Car trouble?”

From the corner of her eye, Iris noticed dark figures moving in the distance.

Without waiting for an answer, she strode over, popped the hood open, and inspected the engine.

“Do you have a toolbox?” She held out her hand. “Quick.”

The man hesitated briefly before retrieving the toolbox and handing it over. “Should I help you put her down?”

“Just place her in the back seat. Thank you.”

He carefully lifted Stella onto his own back before gently settling her inside the rear of the Bentley.

The moment he closed the door…

Iris lowered the hood and walked toward him.

He blinked in disbelief.

“Already fixed?”

Before he could even take back the toolbox, Iris smoothly opened the driver’s door and climbed into the seat as though it were her own car.

Behind them, Jack’s men had already spotted them.

They’d gone back to report it.

The chase would begin any second.

“Get in!”

The young man looked around.

They were in the middle of nowhere.

If this woman drove off and stranded him here, he’d be in even more trouble.

Though he still had no idea what was happening, he climbed into the passenger seat.

Iris had already spotted two black vehicles appearing in the rearview mirror.

She tightened her grip on the steering wheel.

“You two should hold on.“”

“Wha–AHHH!”

The man had barely fastened his seat belt before the rest of his sentence vanished into the roar of acceleration.

‘Is she trying to kill us?!‘

The two pursuing vehicles immediately accelerated after them.

After several moments, the man finally adjusted to the speed and stopped looking quite so miserable. He glanced sideways at Iris. “You two hijack cars awfully professionally.”

He’d been analyzing the situation this whole time.

Were these two highway robbers?

Everything they’d done had been frighteningly practiced.

But at the same time… she really had repaired his Bentley.

And she’d done it unbelievably fast.

He still hadn’t figured out what was wrong with the engine before she’d diagnosed and fixed it at a glance.

Iris remained focused on the two black cars glued to their rear bumper.

Without taking her eyes off the road, she offered a calm warning.

“Don’t talk.”

“Hold on.”

By now, both the man and Stella had developed an almost instinctive response.

The instant they heard those words, they grabbed the handholds tightly.

The pursuers clearly knew how to drive as well.

They refused to shake loose.

“The guy driving is freaking insane!” One of them shouted over the radio. “When we catch him, let’s make him our driver!”

The words had barely left his mouth-

The Bentley suddenly spun around.

It slipped cleanly through the narrow gap between the two pursuing vehicles.

As the cars flashed past one another…

They finally saw the driver clearly.

It wasn’t the young man.

It was…

The woman who had beaten all of them unconscious earlier.

Now she’d finally experienced something similar herself.
