As soon as Evelyn said those words, the rest of the group happened to walk into the room.
The Noir family.
The admissions officers.
Even several reporters.
Every one of them heard it.
The meaning was obvious.
From now on, Iris Noir wasn’t just the daughter of the Noir family.
She was also officially recognized by the Young family.
Her status had become even more distinguished.
“Yes!” Julie immediately agreed. “Then Iris will be my sister from now on! Iris, you have to say yes!”
“Okay.” Iris nodded.
It was nothing more than making an elderly woman happy.
There was no reason to refuse.
For once, Julie had never agreed with one of her grandmother’s decisions so wholeheartedly.
This way, she wouldn’t have to keep inventing excuses to spend time with Iris.
“Mrs. Young, it’s wonderful to see you awake!”
Richard and Eleanor were equally thrilled.
Now sitting upright with help from Julie and Iris, Evelyn looked at them with emotion in her eyes.

“It feels like I’ve just woken up from a very long dream.”
Then she glanced toward the group of unfamiliar faces.
“And these people are…?”

A representative from Capital University’s admissions office stepped forward.
“Mrs. Young, we’re from Capital University’s admissions office.”
“Miss Iris scored the highest marks in the nation on this year’s college entrance examination, so we’ve come to invite her to apply to our university.”
“So have we!”
Several others immediately chimed in.
Richard smiled and explained. “Iris just finished her college entrance exams. She’s currently deciding which university to attend.”
Looking at the crowd packed into the room, Evelyn couldn’t help feeling proud. Her newly adopted granddaughter was not only a brilliant physician-
She was an exceptional student as well.
What a wonderful surprise.
“University applications…” She repeated the words slowly.
“Then doesn’t that mean there should be a celebration banquet?” Eleanor laughed.
“Of course.” Richard smiled. “And you’ll be attending.”
“She’s the national top scorer,” Evelyn declared enthusiastically. “It has to be a grand celebration!”
In her younger years, she had always loved social events and gatherings.
Having just awakened and already hearing about a banquet made her positively delighted.
Realizing the family wanted to spend time together, the admissions officers politely prepared to leave.

Out in the hallway, they happened to run into Vincent and Chloe, who had only just arrived.
The emotional roller coaster of the day had been so overwhelming that Chloe had actually gotten carsick–a rare occurrence.
Vincent had accompanied her to pick up some medication.
“Professors?”
Vincent first stopped the reporters who were about to leave. He reminded them not to publish Iris’s photographs online.
That had been Iris’s request.
Meanwhile, Chloe remained by the doorway and intercepted several admissions officers.
“You’re one of the daughters of the Noir family too?” One of them looked at her curiously. “Is there something you need?”
Chloe decided to make one last attempt. “Although my score wasn’t as high as my sister’s, I’ve won many awards throughout high school. Would your universities consider me as well?”
She opened her phone and showed them the résumé she had previously prepared for special admissions applications.
The admissions officers gathered around to examine it.
“Actually, this is fairly impressive.”
The résumé was undeniably strong.
Chloe immediately looked toward the representatives from Capital University.
None of them reacted.
Not one.
Their entire reason for coming today was Iris.
They had no need to recruit additional students.

Besides, they knew exactly who Chloe was.

After the incident involving Hannah, none of them held a particularly favorable opinion of her.
If she earned admission through normal channels, that was one thing.
But helping her gain special consideration?
Absolutely not.
Some of the other universities, however, seemed interested.
A student with these credentials could still be valuable.
One admissions officer asked, “So what was your exam score?”
The question immediately made Chloe uncomfortable.
While waiting for her medication earlier, she had secretly asked a friend to check her results online.
“My performance suffered because of an unexpected incident during the exam,” she explained. “I only scored a B–Level.”
“But my overall abilities are excellent. My artwork has won numerous awards, and I—”
The moment the number came out, the admissions officer handed her phone back without another glance.
“In that case, Miss Chloe, I’d recommend carefully researching your options. With some luck, you might still have a chance of getting into one of our universities.”
A score like that?
She should focus on finding the best school she could realistically enter.
