Chapter 350 Rightful Owner

Chapter 350 Rightful Owner

Ares received the message and immediately turned his head toward Emma.

She was still sleeping soundly, completely unaware of what was happening.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

His fingers quickly moved across his phone screen as he typed a response. Then he stood up.

It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Iris.

Ares had absolute faith in her.

But since the other side had willingly delivered themselves to him, how could he possibly let this opportunity slip away?

“Julian, get the car ready.”

“Mr. Barclay, you want to go personally? Then what about Miss Emma…”

“It’s safe here. And Iris is here as well. Get the car ready.”

“Yes, sir.”

Ares went downstairs and instructed the servants. “Take good care of Emma. When Iris comes out, tell her I’ll be back soon.”

“Yes, sir.”

After grabbing his coat and leaving, Julian was already waiting outside with the car.

Once Ares got in, Julian started the engine and quickly drove out of the estate.

After Ares sent several messages to Mr. Long, he put his phone down.

“Julian, there’s still no other information about Jody?”

“No, Mr. Barclay. It seems someone directly blocked our investigation. Our people haven’t been able to break through that defense system yet.”

Ares fell silent for a moment before contacting Connor from GHE.

[Help me investigate information about Jody.]

Ding.

Damian looked down at the message on his phone. He glanced at it briefly before tossing it aside and continuing to investigate Chloe’s whereabouts without hesitation.

Ares didn’t receive a response. He knew Connor was probably busy with something else. It seemed that route was temporarily unavailable.

Then the only option left was to capture Jody himself and see what information he could get out of him.

Julian, go faster.”

“Understood.” Julian stepped onthe accelerator.

The car suddenly sped up, turning sharply left and entering the express lane.

Less than twenty-five minutes later, they stopped infront of the club.

During the day, the club lacked the drunken chaos and flashing lights of the night..

Instead, it carried a strange sense of emptiness after the excitement had ended.

Ares walked leisurely toward the deeper part of the club.

As the boss of the underground casino, he had always entered directly through the headquarters entrance.

He had never actually walked in through the front door before.

His footsteps slowed slightly.

Suddenly-

A faint sound came from nearby.

Ares raised his hand and blocked a punch.

He immediately countered with a chokehold.

The opponent was lifted off the ground.

But the next second, the man kicked Ares hard in the chest.

Ares stepped back two times.

A gray footprint was left on his pristine white shirt.

The other person also stopped.

“Jody?”

The face in front of him was different from the one shown on the surveillance footage..

Clearly, he was wearing a disguise as well.

“Mr. Barclay, you arrived pretty quickly.” The man smiled. “Should I call you Mr. Barclay, or should I call you the boss of this underground casino?”

His teasing voice reached Ares’s ears.

“Enough nonsense. What is your purpose?” Ares’s lazy voice sounded, as if the kick he had just taken hadn’t affected him at all

Jody looked at him with disdain. “I’m simply returning something to its rightful owner. Why is Mr. Barclay so angry?”

“How do you know it belongs to its rightful owner?”

That’s something I can’t tell you.” Jody smiled. “Things are different now. This is no longer a world where you, Mr. Barclay, control everything.”

“This invitation today is my official declaration of war. I hope Mr. Barclay won’t fall too soon. Otherwise, it would become boring,”

Ares let out a cold laugh. “Who gave you the courage?”

He slowly walked toward Jody.

“A coward who doesn’t even dare to show his real face.”

“Hahaha…” Jody laughed. “Trying to provoke me is useless, Mr. Barclay. You know my temper, don’t you? No need to say more. We’ll meet again in the future.”

As he turned to leave, Ares spoke calmly. “Villains always die because they talk too much. I hope you remember that.”

Jody shook his head and walked away.

At that exact moment, Ares’s phone lit up.

The moment Jody stepped out of the club entrance, Julian moved. He launched a surprise attack and injected Jody with a sedative.
