Back at Crown Heights Estate, Richard and Eleanor were relaxing on the living room sofa when Iris walked through the front door. The moment they saw her, their faces lit up.

“Iris, you’re back!” Eleanor said warmly. “Perfect timing. Go call Chloe downstairs too. There’s something your father and I want to discuss with both of you.”

When Chloe was summoned downstairs, her heart immediately leapt into her throat. For one terrifying moment, she thought someone had discovered her involvement in Mason’s attempt to kidnap Iris. By the time she reached the living room, she had already rehearsed half a dozen excuses, and the strain showed clearly on her face.

“What’s wrong, Chloe?” Eleanor asked.

“It’s nothing.” Chloe forced a smile. “I’m just tired after the exams.”

Only then did Eleanor relax. She nudged Richard with her elbow.

Richard smiled at both girls. “First of all, congratulations to my two precious daughters for finishing the college entrance exams. Now that they’re finally over, I want to know what you’d like to do next. Whatever it is, I’ll make it happen.”

Chloe’s eyes brightened immediately. She had been waiting for an opportunity like this.

“Dad, I don’t really have many wishes,” she said softly. “I just want our whole family to take another trip to H Country. We went there together when I was ten, and I’ve wanted to go back ever since. This time, I’ll plan the entire itinerary myself and take care of everyone.”

Richard and Eleanor exchanged a glance, visibly touched.

The daughter they had raised had grown up before they realized it. She was thoughtful, considerate, and always thinking about the family. Yet the thought also brought a familiar ache. When they had taken that trip years ago, they hadn’t known where Iris was or what hardships she had been enduring. They had missed so much of her childhood.

Eleanor blinked away the sting in her eyes and squeezed Iris’s hand.

“I’m not very interested in traveling.” Iris turned toward Richard. “Dad, don’t you own a company called Venus?”

“Venus?” Richard frowned and pulled out his phone. “I own too many companies. Let me check.”

After scrolling through an absurd number of subsidiaries, he finally found it.

“There it is.” His expression turned puzzled. “It’s a cosmetics company, but business hasn’t been doing well. Honestly, I was planning to liquidate it soon.”

Looking up, he added, “If you want a company, I’ll give you a better one. You could even start your own. As for Venus, I’d forget about it.”

“It’s okay.” Iris smiled. “I’ve looked into their products before. I think they have a lot of potential. Let me give it a try.”

Richard studied her for a moment before breaking into laughter.

“If my daughter likes it that much, then it’s yours.” He pointed a finger at her playfully. “But if it goes bankrupt, don’t be too upset. It wasn’t going to survive much longer anyway.”

Back when she and Zane had first founded Stellar Venture, they had analyzed the Noir family’s business portfolio. Even then, Iris had recognized Venus’s potential. She simply hadn’t expected it to be struggling this badly.

Richard looked immensely pleased.

“That’s my daughter. You just finished your exams and you’re already thinking about helping the family business.”

“What helping the family business?” Eleanor immediately slipped an arm around Iris’s shoulders. “This is just something for Iris to play with.”
