Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 106

Chapter 106 Visit Louisa

Natalie’s POV:

I was in a meeting with my team at Moon-Shadowed Pack when I got a call from Louisa. Spotting her number on the screen, I immediately got up and stepped into the adjacent office to answer it.

“Hello?” I said.

“Natalie, I’m sick and in the hospital!” Her voice sounded weak and listless.

“What happened? Are you okay?” My heart clenched, and I quickly inquired about her condition. I knew she was old, with a history of heart and blood-pressure problems. Even though she disliked being bothered, I’d regularly send top-notch supplements in Landon’s name.

She sighed, “Alas, I’m old. I don’t have much time left… The doctor said I was too stressed, and my anger flared up. I have to stay in the hospital for observation. I’ve been thinking about you these days. Can you come and see me?”

The sadness in her voice sounded genuine, stirring a pang of guilt in me. Louisa had come to see me specially and then suddenly fallen ill. Could it be because I’d moved out? She might have already seen through Landon’s clumsy lies.

Remembering how she’d taken care of me before, I readily agreed, “Sure, but I’m a bit tied up right now. I’ll come later. Send me the hospital ward number.”

After hanging up, I told my assistant to prepare a gift for Louisa. Once I wrapped up my work at Moon- Shadowed Pack, I drove to the hospital.

All the way there, I was thinking about how to comfort Louisa when we met. I didn’t even notice the message from Leonardo. It wasn’t until I parked my car in the hospital’s underground garage and was about to go upstairs with the gift that a familiar childish voice, full of sharp malice, rang out.

“Bad woman! You’re such a bad woman! You always bully people! Give me Ms. Cooper back!”

I turned around and saw Nathan, who’d been escorted down by Landon’s assistant. As soon as he saw me, he wriggled free from the assistant and ran towards me. He picked up something like a small pebble from the ground and threw it at my arm.

I wasn’t going to tolerate his behavior. As he tried to run away, I stepped forward and grabbed his arm, releasing a faint hint of a werewolf’s intimidating aura. “Nathan, do you really think I won’t teach you a lesson just because no one’s around? Have you forgotten the last time?”

“Waaaaahhh-” Knowing my temper well, he deliberately wailed louder.

The assistant quickly stepped forward to intervene, “Mrs. Richardson, Mr. Nathan Richardson is just a kid. Don’t take it to heart. I was just taking him back. Everyone’s waiting for you upstairs…”

I said coldly, “Perfect. Nathan, if you hate me so much, say it to the family. And if you’re that fond of Ms. Cooper, how about I do you a favor and let her be your mother?”

With that, I ignored the assistant and dragged Nathan towards the elevator. He struggled desperately, his body scraping on the ground as he cried and screamed. He knew he’d be in big trouble upstairs.

. The assistant lunged at me to stop me. I let go, and Nathan fell hard on the ground due to the reaction

force. This time, he was really in pain and wailed even louder. The assistant was at a loss.

I immediately called Landon and said simply, “Are you at the hospital? Nathan’s in trouble. Come down and take a look.” Then I hung up before he could respond.

Soon, Landon rushed over.

“Natalie, you’re here… What’s going on?” When he saw me, a glint of surprise flashed in his eyes, and his voice rose. But when he caught sight of the crying Nathan, his brows knitted together.

“I won’t force it if he wants Aaliyah to be his mom,” I said calmly yet firmly, my eyes as cold as ice as I stared right at him. “Look, either let Aaliyah into the family or terminate my adoption of Nathan and send him to Aaliyah.”

Landon felt guilty and quickly retorted, “What nonsense! You’re my bonded mate. How could I marry someone else?” Once he got the gist of the situation, Landon grabbed the still-tantruming Nathan and gave him a couple of swats on the butt. “Stop crying!” he snapped.

He bent down and threatened Nathan angrily, “I’m telling you, Natalie is your mom! Ms. Cooper only took care of you for a few days. Do you want to go back to the orphanage and be an orphan again?”

He almost gritted his teeth as he said the last part. As Landon looked at his son’s tear-streaked face, there was a faint, barely noticeable choke in his voice.

A sneer spread across my face. I had no interest in watching their act. Remembering I still had to see Louisa, I took the chance while Landon was scolding the kid and headed upstairs.

Down the corridor outside the ward, Anna and Grace were in the middle of a chat. The moment I came into view, their eyes locked on me briefly before they shared a sly glance, as if they’d just struck a silent deal.

Anna plastered on a phony smile and drawled, “Well, if it isn’t you! Long time, no see. I figured you’d rather chew glass than come face-to-face with us Thorn Pack members again.” Her words dripped with a venomous kind of sarcasm.

Grace, meanwhile, sized me up with a frosty stare. As she took in my stunning suit that made me look even more polished and alluring than before, her expression soured. With a disdainful scoff, she spoke up. “These days, it’s a free-for-all. A she-wolf can’t pop out some strong pups for her mate, and still, she gets to lounge around, living off everyone else. And we old-timey’s? We’re tiptoeing around, scared to ruffle her

feathers.”

By bringing up the “pups” thing, she was going straight for the jugular, hitting me right where it hurt-the whole “infertility” label I’d once carried. In the werewolf world, especially among the high-society packs, that was a huge deal. And then her eyes landed on the plain plastic bag in my hand, her look turning into pure, unadulterated contempt.
