I remembered. I had seen an elderly homeless person slip and fall in the rain across the street, his belongings scattering everywhere. I had run over to help.
While we were still picking things up, a few men in suits came over with umbrellas to help. They even offered us two umbrellas. At the time, I thought their appearance was a bit odd.
“Oh, they were your people?” It finally clicked. No wonder they wouldn’t accept any money when I tried to pay for the umbrella.
Leonardo nodded. “Seems like your mind was completely on your work back then.”
“It was.” I thought back and realized how oblivious I had been. Feeling more curious, I asked, “And the third time?”
Leonardo’s POV:
“The last time was when you went to buy the apartment,” I said.
Not long after I saw the news about Alexander’s death, I found out he had a biological daughter who inherited his estate. Alexander and I weren’t close-our only connection was that one act of his saving my life-but I could tell he deeply desired to have children.
He must have learned about his daughter just before he died. That was why he left everything to her.
My initial thought was to see if I could repay some of my debt through his daughter. I never imagined that my savior’s daughter would be Natalie.
Running into the same stranger three times was fate enough. But for us to also have this connection… Even someone like me, who didn’t believe in destiny, ghosts, or fate, couldn’t help feeling this was meant
to be.
“So it was all just a coincidence?” Natalie asked softly. I could feel the emotion stirring within her.
“Part coincidence, part debt,” I said, stroking her cheek. “But the bond… That was because of you. It could only ever have been you,”
Back when I considered using a bonded mate arrangement to protect her and repay the debt, I told myself it was for multiple reasons-the connection to Alexander,/potential mutual business benefits, and the pressure I was getting from the elders to bond.
But looking back now, all those reasons were just excuses.
The truth was simple. I just wanted Natalic.
From the first time I saw her waiting so determinedly outside the Sanchez Group, to the second time she stumbled into my arms in the rain, to the third time I discovered she was my savior’s daughter, fate had been guiding her to me all along.

And now, she was finally completely mine.

After our bath, I had Aaron bring Natalie one of my shirts to wear. She hadn’t brought any clothes, and we were in a remote mountain area where shopping wasn’t easy.
My shirt was huge on her, hanging loose and empty. It would be easy to reach inside. Seeing her dressed like that, I felt myself harden instantly.
I wrapped my arms around her from behind, breathing in her scent. Her unique, lovely fragrance intoxicated me.
“Don’t move,” Natalie said, her voice full of concern. “You’ll reopen your wounds. Shouldn’t we go back to the hospital soon?”
She didn’t want me doing anything reckless. After our intimacy, she had noticed I looked paler. Even though I was talking and joking with her, she still worried that having sex with her just once had already been too much for my injured body.
“Whatever,” I murmured, telling her the truth. “I don’t want to go back to the hospital. I just want to stay here with you.” Every moment spent with her meant more to me than any medicine.
That upset her. She pulled away from my arms and turned to face me, frowning. Her expression was completely serious. “Leonardo, if you keep saying things that show you don’t care about your health, I won’t speak to you again.”
“I… I didn’t mean it like that,” I said, flustered by her clear displeasure.
Natalie had hit a nerve. As the Alpha of Silver-Maned Pack, I was taught to always put the pack’s interests and my family duties before my personal well-being. And no one had ever gotten this genuinely angry with me over something like this before.
“Whatever you meant, I’m not happy about it,” Natalie said. Seeing my genuine alarm, her tone softened a little. “Unless you start behaving and follow the doctor’s orders to the letter.”
I was about to say something, but Natalie silenced me with a single glance,
“Leon,” she said, her voice now completely soft, a pleading, concerned tone in it. “Please don’t make me worry, okay? Your health is so important to me… more important than anything.”
“Okay.” Natalie’s combination of firmness and tenderness was more effective than any order from the pack elders. I gave in almost immediately, letting her help me back to the bedroom to lie down.
In less than ten minutes, the medical team hurried in with their equipment. Miranda’s private medical team arrived, too-they specialized in treating werewolf/injuries,
Throughout the examination, Natalie watched anxiously, holding my hand tightly. When the bandages were removed, revealing the raw, red scabs beneath, I saw her eyes narrow slightly. Her fingers clenched around mine.
Some of the nasty-looking stitches were indeed seeping a little blood. ‘It’s fine. We just ner the doctor said calmly, offering a bit of reassurance.
clean it,”
