Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 297

Chapter 297 Console Myself

Grace’s POV:

:.

“Aaliyah, please don’t take it to heart with an old woman like me,” Louisa said, her voice trembling as if each word was being forced out. “You know the state Thorn Pack is in. We desperately need new investment.”

“Of course I know,” Aaliyah replied without warmth. “But who would willingly do favors for an ex-husband’s family?”

Anna, seeing Aaliyah’s aggressive stance, opened her mouth to speak, but James pinched her hand. She shot him a glare but stayed quiet.

Aaliyah pretended to leave again. This time, Louisa finally said, “If you can help the Richardson family, I won’t bring up dissolving your bond again.”

Only then did Aaliyah look at Louisa seriously. “How can I trust that?”

“Do as you wish. I’ll guarantee it any way you want,” Louisa said through gritted teeth. “On the condition that you actually help the Richardson family!”

Aaliyah’s POV:

A flicker of triumph passed through my eyes, but I quickly hid it. That was enough—no need to push further. The Richardson family was opportunists. As long as I had power, I could handle them.

“Follow me.” I led them to the entrance. Two security guards stopped us.

“Invitation, please,” one said, his eyes skipping right over me to land on the Richardson family behind me.

I handed over my invitation. The guard took it, looked up, and scanned everyone’s faces sharply.

He asked, “You’re from the Richardson Group?”

James quickly stepped forward. “Yes, but I’m not. I’m with Swift Bank.”

The guard ignored him, murmuring something into his earpiece. A few seconds later, his expression turned hard.

“It’s you. You’re on the blacklist. The venue’s orders-no entry for any of you, or anyone with you,” he said flatly. “Leave now, or we’ll have you removed.”

I was stunned. Blacklist?

“Guests are allowed to bring family,” I said, forcing a smile. “They’re with me. I’m from Gallop Energy.”

“The order is final. No means no!” the guard cut me off, impatience creeping into his voice. “If you don’t leave, I’ll call for backup.”

Anna lost control again. “It was just a little argument! Are you guys insane? If you’re so tough keeping us out, why don’t you drag Natalie out here!”

For once, I actually agreed with her. A surge of anger shot through me.

Why? Since when did Natalie get to decide who could enter? Who did she think she was? She built a tiny company by feeding off Thorn Pack, and now she acted like she was in charge?

How could her company compare to Gallop Energy?

I wanted to call Cameron. But I didn’t want him to know about my family drama, so I kept arguing.

“I am the head of Gallop Energy’s Maritime City branch!” I raised my voice. “Are you sure you want to stop me?”

The guard was unmoved. He spoke into his earpiece, and soon over a dozen uniformed werewolf security surrounded us, forcefully herding us away.

“Please leave,” the lead security captain said. His tone brooked no argument.

Louisa’s face flushed deep red, her breathing growing ragged. Grace panicked, quickly supporting her as they retreated.

I wanted them to go home so I could enter alone. But once the Richardson family left, they still wouldn’t let me in.

“You can’t enter either,” the captain said.

“I’m a VIP attendee!” I was nearly growling.

“Everyone inside is a VIP,” the captain said, his eyes cold. “You disrupted the event. Letting you in would be on me.”

Arguing, threatening-none of it worked. They stood like a wall, expressionlessly blocking my path.

Finally, I was “escorted” past the security line.

Unable to bear the humiliation, Louisa left in a huff with Grace.

Standing by the curb, I could hear Anna’s unmistakable sneer. She and James hadn’t gone far and were looking back at me.

“Aaliyah, are you actually capable of anything?” Anna’s voice was sharp and grating. “Weren’t you so confident about getting us in? Don’t tell me you’re even more useless than Natalie. With skills like that, how dare you act so high and mighty earlier?”

“Get lost,” I sneered, my voice cold.

Anna snorted, yanking James toward the parking area. I heard her say to him, “Why stick around to be humiliated? I don’t have her thick skin.”

I turned my back to them, my hands shaking as I pulled out my phone and dialed Cameron’s number.

I called repeatedly, but no one answered. I had no choice but to wait at the coffee shop across the street.

An hour later, Cameron finally called back. He asked why I hadn’t entered. I didn’t dare tell him

the truth.

He said he’d come out to meet me. I felt a pang of disappointment-such a wasted chance to network, all because of the Richardson family.

I tried to reassure myself that the project materials were all with Cameron anyway. Maybe it didn’t matter if I went in or not.
