“Weren’t you supposed to be resting?” I whispered close to his ear. “Who said you could hold meetings at home?”
Leonardo’s fingers threaded through my hair. “I am resting,” he said dismissively. “Just reviewing some data. It doesn’t take any effort.”
“Really? Your face looked pretty gloomy just now,” I murmured.
“That wasn’t because of the data.” He suddenly leaned in, his nose almost touching mine, and cupped the back of my head to kiss me. “It was because you didn’t reply to my message again.” His breath was faint and careful.
My face flushed instantly. There were still so many people watching.
“I was in a hurry to get back to you. That’s why I forgot,” I said softly, curling my fingers against his chest.
At those words, the turmoil inside Leonardo surged even more intensely, and the light in his eyes softened all the same.
“In that much of a hurry?” he asked.
I said, “Mhm. I missed you…”
I buried my face, not daring to look at the others. Why did he always ask these things in front of so many people?
But Leonardo didn’t care. He glanced at the others-just a single glance-and everyone immediately turned away, some even bumping into each other.
“Meeting adjourned,” Leonardo said flatly, his voice uncharacteristically touched with
amusement.
Aaron’s POV:
Everyone was surprised to hear those two words-no summary, no instructions.
Ending so abruptly left them all uneasy. They stood frozen. I knew they were afraid of getting termination notices tomorrow.
I had to muster the courage to ask, “So, Mr. Sanchez, about this incident?”

Leonardo said, “It’s not irreparable. Just don’t make the same mistake again. Everyone, submit a review report.”
The moment he finished speaking, everyone was stunned.
It looked like they’d dodged a bullet! A review report barely counted as punishment.
These highly-paid executives had signed agreements. The losses this time were significant. Leonardo would have been fully justified in penalizing them.
Natalie’s POV:
Leonardo’s fingers gently stroked my hair, his eyes never leaving me.
Everyone just stood there, not leaving.
Seeing their reluctance, I thought Leonardo was being too harsh.
“Is the review report that hard to write?” I turned to ask Leonardo. “If it wasn’t a major mistake, don’t be too hard on them. I think you scared them just now.”
I didn’t know the details of Leonardo’s projects, but my philosophy with teams was shared responsibility for mistakes.
Unless it was a fundamental error, I allowed my people room for missteps or failures.
Criticism was one thing, but enough was enough. An Alpha who was too ruthless couldn’t rally the strongest werewolf warriors.
“No, no! It’s easy to write!” A chorus of voices immediately chimed in, full of gratitude.
I couldn’t help smiling. Leonardo looked at me, then at them.
“Forget it. Writing reviews is a waste of time,” he said. “Since my wife asked, I’ll let it go this once. Don’t let it happen again.”
The tension in the room dissolved instantly. I could smell the fear in the air dissipating, replaced by sheer relief.
Aaron cleared his throat to prompt them. The group finally snapped to attention, offering hurried goodbyes. On their way out, they didn’t forget to say to me, “Mrs. Sanchez, may everything go your way and every day bring you joy!”
Only after everyone had left did Aaron clear everything from the coffee table-including Leonardo’s work laptop.
So his daily pretense of obediently waiting for me was just an act.

No work-related items were ever left in sight at home because Aaron manually carted them in and out.
The moment Aaron closed the door, Leonardo couldn’t wait any longer. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into his embrace. His kiss descended, urgent and fervent.
I could feel the desire in his pheromone-both physical longing and a deeper, soul-level craving.
The bond between werewolf mates wasn’t just a physical union. It was a fusion of souls. Since we completed our preliminary bond, I could sense his emotions, and he could perceive my state. That connection had only grown stronger the more we became one.
Leonardo’s POV:
I missed Natalie terribly, especially today. For some reason, from the moment she got out of bed, my whole body had been itching nonstop.
The doctor said it was just the sensation of my wounds healing. But I knew better.
I wanted her.
I wanted to see her.
I wanted to be with her every single moment.
“I missed you,” I murmured softly in her ear. “I’d been missing you since you left this morning.”
“I missed you, too,” she whispered back, meeting my kiss. Under my touch, Natalie soon melted like warm honey in my arms.
We had sex on the sofa for a long time. By the time Natalie gently pushed me away, it was fully dark outside.
I held her from behind as we nestled together on the not-so-spacious sofa, watching the city lights outside flicker on one by one like scattered stars. The happiness of this moment felt almost surreal.
