Chapter 323 Feel Sorry for You
Natalie’s POV:
“Natalie, what brings you here so late?” Fiona asked, looking at me with concern.

“I’m sorry for waking you, Fiona,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. I had hoped to find Leonardo quietly because some things couldn’t wait until morning.
“Oh, don’t worry. I wasn’t asleep yet.” Fiona waved a hand and guided me inside. “Did you need to talk to me about something?”
She glanced at my bandaged hand. “Does it still hurt? Is it feeling any better?”
“It’s fine,” I said, my eyes darting toward the stairs leading to Leonardo’s room. “Leonardo… Is he asleep? Actually, I’m here to see him.”
“You’re here to see Leonardo?” Fiona looked even more surprised and blurted out, “But isn’t he with you?”
My heart sank, a cold panic gripping me. “He didn’t come home?”
“Did something happen between you two?” Fiona was confused and immediately grew tense.
I realized my mistake instantly. I couldn’t worry her. I forced a smile and said, “Oh, I must have
misunderstood. He went to the office today. When he didn’t come home this late, I thought he might have come here.”
I pulled out my phone and pretended to check it.
I said, “Look. He just texted saying he’s already home. I must have missed it.”
“Are you sure he’s back?” Fiona still sounded doubtful.
But I couldn’t stay. I said a hurried goodbye and almost ran back to my car.
Once inside, I immediately tried calling Leonardo again-no answer. That cold panic began to spread again. I called Aaron instead. This time, he picked up.
“Where is Leonardo?” I got straight to the point.
Aaron, on the other end, clearly hesitated, stammering.
His reaction told me everything. I pressed him, my voice urgent, “Aaron, Leonardo isn’t answering his phone. If something happens to him, will you take responsibility?”
Aaron’s resistance crumbled. He finally gave me an address.
Half an hour later, I rushed to Leonardo’s current residence. My heart pounded the whole way, a mix of anxiety and growing anger.
But as soon as the elevator doors opened, a familiar figure stood blocking my path.
It was Victoria.
Chapter 323 Feel Sorry for You
Finished
She wore only a thin cashmere dress, her long hair loose around her shoulders. She had no makeup on, and her bare face looked softer and more delicate than usual.
“Natalie, are you here to see Leonardo?” Her tone was so natural that it was as if she were the lady of the house.
I froze for a second before fury ignited in my veins. Wasn’t she supposed to be in Faeloria? What was she doing here?
“What are you doing here?” My voice turned cold.
Without waiting for an answer, I moved to go past her to find Leonardo.
Victoria grabbed my arm. “Natalie, why force yourself like this? If you can’t accept the real him, just let go. Haven’t you caused Leonardo enough pain already?”
Her words enraged me. I wrenched my arm free and raised my hand, poised to strike.
But Victoria didn’t flinch. She even tilted her face up slightly, as if waiting for the blow. She was trying to provoke me. She wanted me to lose control, to become the jealous, violent mate who couldn’t understand Leonardo’s “difficulties.” That would prove her “right.”
She had hit a nerve. If I lost trust in Leonardo, the collapse of our relationship would start right here, right
now.
My fingertips were inches from her cheek when I stopped. My racing heart and surging blood oddly stilled.
I slowly lowered my hand, clenching it into a fist so tight my nails dug into my palm. Then, I let out a short, disdainful laugh.
“You want me to hit you? Is that your pathetic bid for attention?” I looked her up and down, my gaze icy. “Too bad. I’m not like you, clinging to a rotten, dead-end romance. Hit you? I just feel sorry for you.”
My words shattered her composed facade more effectively than any slap could. Her face paled instantly. Her carefully maintained composure shattered, revealing the embarrassment and resentment beneath. “Sorry for me? What right do you have? You know you and Leonardo are over. He’s already given up on you. Isn’t what you’re doing right now just clinging on?”
I ignored her.
“Natalie!” she shrieked from behind me. “You want to know why I’m here? I’ll tell you! It’s because Leonardo doesn’t want to see you right now.”
I paused for a fraction of a second but didn’t turn around. “Why you’re here isn’t my concern. If I really want to know, I’ll ask my mate.”
I didn’t give her another chance to speak and strode toward Leonardo’s door.
