Chapter 349 Formally Introduce Him
Louisa’s POV:
The man’s sudden interjection and his icy stare gave me pause, but my lifelong arrogance quickly rallied. “I’m speaking to Natalie! You have no right to interrupt!”
He asked, “You say this place was bought with Landon’s money?”
“That’s right! The woman beside you-she’s using our family’s money to keep you!” I raised my voice defiantly, determined to shame them both.
The man let out a derisive snort, a sinister smile tugging at the corners of his lips. The look he swept over me sent a deep chill through me. I couldn’t help but shudder twice.
What an act! What kind of respectable man would end up with Natalie? He might be good- looking, but he was probably just a pretty boy living off a woman!
“My wife choosing to provide for me is a private matter between mates,” the man said. “But to suggest she uses your Thorn Pack’s money to keep me? You greatly underestimate my wife, and you show profound disrespect for my Sanchez family.” His voice wasn’t loud, but each word carried a cold, ruthless intensity.
I froze. The Sanchez family?
The name sounded familiar. I remembered there was only one Sanchez family in all of Maritime City-the legendary, ancient, powerful, and mysterious top-tier pack whose influence was woven globally. And the Sanchez Group, a near-mythical presence in Maritime City and the nation, was rarely seen in public yet controlled the real economic lifelines.
But… that was impossible.
If the man before me was from that Sanchez family, not only our Thorn Pack, but even the Moon-Shadowed Pack, the number one pack in Maritime City, would have to show him deference. He would be practically untouchable in this country!
Just thinking about it made a cold sweat break out all over my body. All the color drained from my face, leaving it pale.
I shouted, “The Sanchez family? Which Sanchez family? You… Don’t think you can fool an old woman like me! What other Sanchez family is there in Maritime City?”
“There is only one ‘Sanchez family’ in Maritime City,” Natalie said from the shelter of the man’s arms, her voice calm. Her gaze held a trace of pity. “The one that controls the Sanchez Group and leads the Silver-Maned Pack.”
The people I brought rushed to support me, murmuring soothingly, trying to calm me down.
I shoved them away, forcing myself to stand straight, though my body trembled violently.
I said, “You’re lying. How could you possibly…”
Seeing my disbelief, Carmen stepped forward. “We are obligated to protect our residents’ privacy, but since Mr. Sanchez has spoken, we see no need for further concealment. The gentleman before you is Leonardo, the current Alpha leader of the Silver-Maned Pack. He and Ms. Anderson have completed their soul-bonding through the Moon Goddess’ vow, though they prefer to keep a low profile.
“As for this entire residential complex-every inch of land, every building-it is all part of the Silver-Maned Pack’s holdings. How could Ms. Anderson possibly require resources from the Thorn Pack to reside here? It is laughable.”
His words were matter-of-fact, but they hit me like a slap in the face.
My head spun from the blow, and I felt dizzy.
Natalie and this man might lie, but surely the entire security force of a Silver-Maned Pack territory wouldn’t be in on a charade?
