Chapter 365 An Argument
Anna’s POV:
I had the house staff prepare a lavish meal.

This was my first time having Aaliyah over. Not knowing her preferences, I covered all the bases-roasted chicken, steak, beef stew, ham, sausages-the works.
Times had changed. My only goal now was to get on Aaliyah’s good side, so I was extremely attentive, helping her with her coat and making small talk.
Aaliyah’s POV:
When it came to being two-faced, the Richardson family was second to none.
I found Anna’s fawning utterly distasteful.
For Landon’s sake, I didn’t openly snub her, but her forced familiarity made my skin crawl. This deliberate, insincere closeness repelled me instinctively.
Anna pushed the plate with the roasted chicken toward me, her tone overly warm. “This one’s quite good. You should try it.”
I smiled slightly but set my fork down on my plate and leaned back casually.
Then I said, “Thank you, but I’m watching my weight lately. Too greasy isn’t good for me. I’ll help myself.”
Anna’s POV:
Aaliyah’s tone was polite, but the refusal was clear.
My movement stalled for a second, and my smile immediately stiffened. James gently nudged my leg under the table, telling me to drop it.
After a brief silence, Aaliyah spoke again. Her voice was still gentle, but as calm as if she was discussing something that had nothing to do with her personally.
She said, “Anna, no need to prepare so much next time. There are only four of us. We can’t possibly finish all this.”
She paused, her gaze lightly sweeping over the crowded table, then added, “And… given the Richardson family’s current situation, I think simpler is more appropriate. Don’t you agree?”
She picked up her fork, poked at the beef stew, took only the smallest, most tender piece for

her plate, and left the rest completely untouched.
This deliberate, showy move was more obvious than any outright refusal.
I gritted my teeth but forced another smile. “You’re right, Aaliyah.”
“I’m done,” Landon suddenly spoke up. He dropped his fork with a clatter, got up, and went to the restroom.
Seeing him leave, Aaliyah wiped her mouth, said she was finished, and quickly followed.
Once Aaliyah was gone, I immediately rolled my eyes.
“What the hell? She’s really no match for Natalie,” I muttered bitterly.
You didn’t know what you had gotten until it was gone. The more I saw, the more I realized I hadn’t appreciated my luck before.
This whole spread cost me a pretty penny and a lot of effort. Aaliyah barely touched any of it. Not only was it a waste, but she didn’t show a shred of gratitude.
Landon’s POV:
I shut myself in the bathroom for a long time. I only came out after Aaliyah knocked on the door for a while.
“Are you feeling unwell? Let’s go home and rest,” Aaliyah said softly, trying to nestle into my
arms.
I instinctively moved away, but she didn’t mind. She forced her arms around my waist. Her omega pheromones enveloped me, gentle yet persistent.
“Let go,” I uttered, my voice low and cold.
Aaliyah refused, tugging at me a few times until I turned and pinned her against the bathroom
counter.
I grabbed one of her wrists with one hand and gripped her slender neck with the other, my empty eyes lifting to meet hers.
“I’m worried about you. I don’t know how to comfort you, but I know this,” Aaliyah said. I held her wrist firmly. She seemed to feel the pain, frowning, but the emotion in her eyes burned brighter.
She steadied her breathing, forcing herself closer to my ear. Her warm breath hit my “Whenever you need me, I won’t leave. I’m your pup’s mother. I’m your bonded mate.”

“You’re not anymore,” I said coldly, then forcefully pushed her arms away.

But the violent motion threw her slender frame against me as usual. Aaliyah grabbed my head and kissed me forcefully. Her kiss carried the cloying sweetness and possessiveness unique to an omega, trying to rebuild a connection in the most direct way.
Anna’s POV:
Landon and Aaliyah went to the restroom one after the other and were gone for a long time.
