Aaliyah’s POV:

A chance? Charity! Her condescending look, like she was looking down on a stray dog, instantly ignited the anger and humiliation I’d been holding onto.
So what if she had Alpha blood? So what if she was the heiress of Moon-Shadowed Pack? Had she forgotten what she used to be like?
“What mistake do I need to admit? What amends should I make?” My voice rose with emotion, turning sharp and strained. “Natalie, don’t think you can slander me just because of your noble birth! Have you forgotten how you used to be-helpless, clinging to the Thorn Pack, begging for scraps?”
The words spilled out before I could stop them. Jealousy and hatred clouded my judgment. My eyes burned, but I fought back the tears. My body trembled uncontrollably. Yet my hatred for Natalie still burned strongest.
Beside me, Chloe let out a mocking laugh. “Begging for scraps? Sounds more like you. At your age, groveling after Landon, stealing someone else’s work for him-exposed right to your face, and still shameless enough to deny it? Shame on you, you old hag!”
Third Person POV:
In terms of verbal punches, Chloe was probably the strongest in the entire meeting room.
Her words nearly gave Aaliyah a heart attack right then and there.
No one had ever attacked Aaliyah about her age before!
Even though Aaliyah was five or six years older, she took amazing care of herself-her figure, face, and poise were just as good as any woman in her early twenties!
But Chloe’s comment completely shattered her pride.
Liam felt Chloe had gone a bit too far. He glanced at her, and under the table, his hand lightly tapped her fidgeting leg.
At Liam’s reminder, Chloe looked like a kid who’d been scolded by a parent. She pressed her lips together.
“Aaliyah, I’ll ask you one last time. The Gallop Energy project-you plagiarized my thesis data, correct?” Natalie’s gaze drifted, lost in thought. The USB drive in her hand tapped lightly against the table.

Aaliyah scoffed. Seeing Natalie still offering her a “chance,” she became convinced Natalie was just trying to pressure her.
She believed Natalie would never kindly give her any real opportunity.
“Natalie, you accuse me of plagiarism? Can you show proof? If you can’t, I might have no choice but to sue the Scott Group for defamation,” said Aaliyah.
“Liam.” Hearing Aaliyah’s words, Natalie wasted no more time.
Liam connected his laptop to the large screen.
The screen lit up, revealing a clear side-by-side comparison chart. On the left were the original data and timestamps from Natalie’s thesis two years ago. On the right were the core data from the Gallop Energy project report.
They were identical.
The last modified timestamp on Natalie’s data file clearly dated back two years.
“No… That’s impossible…” Aaliyah murmured, her brow tightly furrowed. She instinctively looked again at the USB drive in Natalie’s hand.
How could it be? When did Landon return the drive to Natalie?
“This should be sufficient proof of your plagiarism.” Natalie’s voice rang out again, flat and emotionless, yet each word struck deep. “If you require more evidence, we can involve the authorities to investigate at our alma mater. The professor who supervised me is an authority in werewolf academia. He maintains independent archives, and some data adjustments bear his signature and Soul Mark Certification.”
Soul Mark Certification for werewolf scholars was nearly irrefutable, ironclad proof.
Facing the screen, Aaliyah couldn’t utter a single word of rebuttal. Overwhelming terror took over her.
Samuel stood up abruptly. He had calculated every possibility, but never expected the weak link to be Aaliyah. Sometimes, it wasn’t that the enemy was too strong-it was that his own teammate was unreliable.
“Ms. Cooper, what is this?” Samuel’s questioning met no response from Aaliyah. She looked around, feeling every gaze was slicing into her.
Seeing Aaliyah speechless, Liam said quietly, “We have already forwarded this evidence to Gallop Energy’s headquarters, Ms. Cooper. Your actions constitute fraud. Before Gallop
