The Mercer Family Estate.
The ceremony was set to begin at noon. By around eleven, most of the guests who were coming had already arrived.
After a quick scan of the house, Brandon pulled Colin aside.
"Where's Lillian? Have you seen her? You don't think she's not coming, do you?"
"Brandon, even if she doesn't come, that would be perfectly normal, wouldn't it?" Colin said. "She's never liked Ms. Ward. If she does show up, she'll probably arrive right on time."
"Just keep an eye out," Brandon insisted. "Lillian received an invitation. I'm just worried she might come with bad intentions, try to sabotage something. With so many guests here, it would be a city-wide joke."
Colin hadn't expected the wedding to be this massive, with so many attendees.
The Mercer villa, despite its large grounds, was starting to feel crowded.
He had been so busy greeting guests all morning that he was completely disoriented, and now he was being asked to keep an eye on his sister.
Besides the fact that he hadn't even seen her yet, wouldn't she just avoid him on sight if she did arrive?
Colin was getting impatient. "Brandon, if you were so worried about her ruining the wedding, you shouldn't have given her an invitation in the first place. With all these guests, her not being here wouldn't make a difference."
Brandon, ever the older brother, scolded him. "What nonsense are you talking about? Just keep an eye out like I said. Ms. Ward personally wrote that invitation to promote family harmony."
"If it's for harmony, then why are you so afraid she'll cause trouble?" Colin retorted. "Besides, Lillian's not a child. She's not necessarily going to make a scene."
Brandon couldn't be bothered to argue with him. There were still guests outside to manage.
Although the wedding planning company they hired had plenty of staff on-site, the crowd was too large and diverse for them to know everyone's identity.
Therefore, a family member needed to be present to guide them, to avoid seating a prominent guest in the back, which would be seen as disrespectful and become a laughingstock.
On such a grand occasion, there was no room for such errors.
Colin was also busy with these matters. The guests today included employees from the Mercer Group, past business partners, people looking to curry favor with Sebastian, Bella's social circle, and even the employees from Lillian's company.
Most importantly, the maternal relatives of the Mercer family's matriarch and their social connections had also been invited.
However, most of the matriarch's high-society connections had sent representatives with gifts instead of attending in person.
But those who did attend had to be seated perfectly, without a single mistake.
Lillian left Halfridge Villas at a quarter past eleven.
She wore a matching black suit: a tailored vest over a black silk shirt, paired with stylishly designed wide-leg trousers. On her feet were pointed-toe high heels, and her hair was slicked back into a neat ponytail.
In the two months since her release, her hair had grown out enough to form a short tail at the back of her head.
