The whole situation was rather amusing. It had completely exceeded her expectations. It seemed fate itself was on her side.
It looked like the Mercer family was in for some good drama. Once the doctor gave her the green light, she might even go back to watch the show.
It was time for a new act in the Mercer family saga.
For years, they had put on a show of being a loving family, while she was the outcast. But things were changing.
That facade of love and affection was about to crumble from within. S
abrina didn't want her to live a good life, and frankly, the feeling was mutual. Her disgust for Sabrina had been deeply rooted ever since the day her mother caught them in the act.
Her father had smashed a vase over her mother's head, spilling so much blood. The physical stains had been cleaned long ago, but the image of that blood had flowed into her heart, deeply engraved in her memory, a stain that would never wash away.
She hated Sabrina for knowingly becoming a mistress and destroying a family.
She also despised her own father, who, despite having a beautiful wife at home, still chose to cheat.
He knew Sabrina had abandoned him when she thought he was just a poor boy, yet he still went back to her.
His poor judgment had ruined her mother's life.
How could she bear to watch them live happily ever after while her mother was forced to live like a madwoman, stripped of her dignity?
Lillian would not forgive. She was no saint. Forgiveness was a job for saints. For her, when it came to Sabrina, there was no tolerance.
Brandon slammed the door shut. “Dad, did something major happen that you didn’t tell me about?”
“What major thing could I have going on?” Martin replied dismissively. “Besides, I haven’t been to the office in ages. You know more about what’s happening here than I do.”
“What about the shares?” Brandon shot back. “Are you telling me I know more about the shares than you do? You’re the largest shareholder. If there’s a change in ownership, how would we know unless you tell us?”
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Before Martin could speak, Brandon barked, “Come in.”
The door opened, and Colin walked in.
“Dad, Brandon, what’s going on? You called me here for a private meeting?”
