Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 321

Brandon asked, “Lillian, what do you mean by that? Do you think I can’t lead the Mercer family? You’ve never cared about the Mercer Group’s development. Is it because you don’t believe I can restore the family to its former glory?”

Lillian replied, “That’s not what I mean, Brandon. Don’t overthink it. I’d like to rest. You should go check on that mother-daughter pair from the Ward family. They’re probably upset that I’m back and could use some emotional support. You should hurry and comfort them.”

With that, she shut the door without hesitation. Brandon frowned. He had indeed been deeply worried about the Mercer Group lately. The company’s development was not going smoothly. If it weren’t for the manufacturing support Sebastian had provided for some of their downstream projects, the situation would be even worse.

Lillian was very smart, but unfortunately, she never seemed to care about the Mercer Group’s business.

Most importantly, she seemed to believe the Mercer Group would never recover and would never see its former glory again.

A wave of sadness washed over Brandon.

His own sister didn’t seem to have any faith in his abilities.

The formation of the new project team wasn’t going well either. Good talent was incredibly hard to find.

If only he had Lillian’s luck and could recruit someone like Victor Knight, Brandon wouldn’t be so stressed and worried.

He had ulterior motives for convincing Lillian to move back home this time. If he could persuade his sister to merge her company back into the group, perhaps a talent like Victor could design the Mercer Group’s own products, and the company could be saved.

Then he wouldn't have to worry about any other problems.

“About the room, Bella was occupying Lillian’s old room to begin with, so it’s fine for her to give it back. I’m just worried Bella won’t be used to the guest room on the west side.

That child has been through so much with me since she was young. Things have only just started looking up for her.”

Back in their upstairs bedroom, Sabrina held onto Martin. She had already decided she needed to buy a gift for Debbie, and Bella likely didn't have much money to spare.

Besides, the money Bella had was borrowed from Sebastian, and it would have to be paid back sooner or later.

Otherwise, when the two of them got married, her daughter would be at a disadvantage, and she would never allow that to happen.
