Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 335

Seeing her cry, Bella immediately began to console her.

“Ma’am, please don’t cry.

I know how much this hurts. I understand completely.

But ma’am, instead of torturing yourself like this, why not fight for what you deserve?

Sebastian is the child you raised. You went through so much to get him where he is today, a powerful man at the top of his field.

Now is the time for you to reap the rewards.

Why should you have to suffer this pain and heartache?

Why should you watch from the sidelines while others enjoy the life that should be yours?”

Bella’s words struck a chord deep within Debbie.

“Bella, you understand me. You’re such a good girl, you really get it.

I want to fight, but what can I fight with? I’m already thankful for the life I have now. How could I ask for more?

I don’t have the power.

Sebastian won't even tell me about something as important as his divorce. How can I possibly fight?”

Bella felt a surge of satisfaction. This was exactly what she had hoped for—to get Debbie to stir up trouble.

“Ma’am, as long as you have the will, I will help you come up with a plan.

After all, we’re on the same side.

Sebastian is your son. If he marries me in the future, I promise we will both take good care of you.

You’ll never have to spend the holidays alone again. We can have a couple of children who will adore you. You'll be surrounded by family, enjoying the life you deserve.”

When the other end picked up, Lillian got straight to the point.

“What’s the deal with that underground casino? Who’s got the nerve to run an operation like that in Northwyn?”

A moment later, she got her answer. “Lillian, the people behind that place have connections with both the law and the underworld. I suggest you stay away from them.”

“Of course I’m not going to get mixed up in that,” Lillian said. “Just tell me more about this casino.”

The person on the other end said, “It’s not safe to talk about this over the phone. I’m actually passing by your area right now. I can swing by the parking garage. Meet me in my car?”

“Okay,” Lillian agreed instantly. “I’m on my way down. I’ll meet you in the garage.”

In the parking garage.

Lillian only had to wait a couple of minutes before a black sedan pulled in. The car parked in the empty space she normally used, and Lillian pulled open the door and got inside.
