Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 433

Ethan pleaded all the way, begging Lillian not to tell Leonard.

Downstairs, Lillian glanced toward the main entrance. Sure enough, Martin was still waiting there.

She gave Ethan a look. "Let's go this way."

She decided to take the long way around to avoid him.

The Mercer family's affairs had nothing to do with her anymore. Whatever he wanted, she had no intention of dealing with it.

More importantly, it bothered her that Martin still had the nerve to introduce himself as her father to the receptionist after they had already cut ties.

She didn't have a father like him.

On the surface, it seemed she had grown up cherished by him, but in reality, he had never once taken care of her himself. When she was born, it was her mother, grandmother, and the maids who looked after her. Martin would only hold her and play with her when he was in a good mood. From what she could remember, the times he held her most were at various banquets, putting on a show of being a good father. Most of the time, he was the busy chairman of the Mercer Group, with no time for her.

As she got older, he showed some concern, but it was always superficial. The things she wanted to share with her father and brothers were met with indifference.

Now, she saw it all clearly.

She tried to take a different route, but Martin's eyes were like radar, and he spotted her anyway.

He started shouting and chasing after her.

"Lillian... Lillian... Let's talk."

Ethan turned his head, but Lillian snapped, "Don't look at him."

"Lillian, stop!" Martin yelled, catching up quickly.

Lillian could hear his voice right behind her, but she didn't slow down, continuing to walk forward.

Martin got out of his car to make the call.

When Lillian saw the call coming from Halfridge Villas, she answered. She hadn't expected it was Martin, calling without a shred of shame.

"Lillian, don't hang up. I just want to talk. It won't take long, just ten minutes. Ten minutes is all I need."

Lillian had the phone on speaker, and Leonard heard everything.

"Do you want me to have the guards escort him off the property?"

Lillian shook her head slightly. "Whatever you have to say, say it over the phone."

Martin pleaded, "Lillian, if you agree to my terms, I can take back the decision to disown you. I'll let you be the heiress of the Mercer family again. How about that?"
