Lillian was stunned into silence by his words. Take back the decision to disown her?
Was he sure he was the one who made that decision?
Well, fine. Although she had orchestrated it, he was the one who had proposed it first. If he hadn't suggested cutting ties, how else could she have turned his own plan against him?
She tried her best, but she couldn't help but laugh.
"Take it back?"
"Yes, I can take it back," Martin replied quickly.
Suddenly, listening to Martin's voice on the phone, Lillian became very curious about the expression on his face.
She hung up and looked at Leonard. "Want to see a show?"
Leonard understood her instantly. "I am quite curious to see what he looks like right now. How can a father be like this?"
Lillian said, "You've never seen anything like it, have you? A father like him in this world. Going back on his word is second nature to him, not to mention we've already officially cut ties."
"It's okay," Leonard said. "You still have me. From now on, I'm your family."
Lillian smiled and didn't argue. Their lives were intertwined; of course they were the closest people in the world.
Finally, they reached the front door of the villa, where Ethan was waiting.
Ethan led Martin to the sunroom in the back garden where Lillian was waiting.
Leonard didn't come downstairs, but he held a tablet, watching Martin's every subtle expression and listening to their conversation through the high-definition security cameras.
When Martin saw Lillian sitting in such an elegant and beautiful sunroom, his anger flared. He was still catching his breath, and here she was, enjoying herself? By what right? Did she deserve this?
"If you have something to say, say it. You said ten minutes. That's good, because I don't have any more time than that."
Lillian really didn't have any extra time. She needed to go back upstairs to be with Leonard. But she was too curious to see his shamelessness up close. So she gave him ten minutes, eager to hear what other shocking, morally bankrupt things this man who still called himself her father would say.
