As she stood up to leave, she suddenly asked, “Bella, with our net worth taking such a hit, do you think they’ll try to force me to apologize now? Your wedding has been scheduled. If I have to apologize, will it affect you two?”

“It was just pocket change,” Sebastian said, his gaze on Bella growing more thoughtful. He hadn’t invested much; it was merely a gesture to give the Mercer family face. He certainly wouldn’t have put in a significant amount.
