Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 141

Chapter 141: Wrong pairing.

Leilani.

I closed my eyes as Jarek massaged my scalp gently, his warm fingers rubbing gently into my hair as he leaned down to press a kiss to my temple.

"Sweetcakes..." he drawled softly and I moaned in response with my eyes still closed. "Your parents are still downstairs at the reception, they’re asking to see you. Do you want to see them now or should we send them out of the company?"

I didn’t even bother with thinking about his words or anything at all. Right now, I didn’t care about anything besides his hands massaging my scalp and the way my stomach grumbled in hunger. I simply waved my hands dismissively and sighed; "Throw them out."

Then with a softer tone, I added; "If they refuse to go, let them be. But I am not going down there to see them, knowing fully well that all they have to say to me is a bunch of garbage."

I opened my eyes then to see a small smile gracing Jay’s face. He leaned away, but not before ruffling my hair and then sat into his chair, his expression a mixture of mischief and excitement. He drawled; "And you don’t want to listen to the garbage?"

"No."

"Okay." He muttered, "I’ll have them dismissed from the property." He said, and with that, he moved away from me to make a call.

A few minutes later, he returned to my side, a small gentle smile playing on his lips as he drawled; "They’ve refused to leave."

"And they shouldn’t," I answered. "I’ll make sure to use this to my advantage... and maybe play a little bit of Chalice’s game by accusing them of stalking me as well as harassing me publicly when we get to court."

The chuckle that bubbled out of Jay’s mouth was contagious and I couldn’t help but smile when his head tipped back and his deep rich laughter filled the air. He said with a laugh. "Sometimes I thank the Heavens that you’re not as bitchy as Chalice, you’d have been a very difficult person to handle."

"I don’t think..." I began to say, but stopped when a sudden thought struck my mind. I said; "Jay...?"

"Huh?"

"Do you remember that man you said had called Chalice Candy... you know, the first time you heard the name?"

"Yeah, and I remember her reaction to it too. She had stiffened like a rock and then rushed out of the restaurant like the devil was hot on her tail." He answered, then cocking his eyebrows at me, he asked; "Why have you asked about it?"

I shrugged. "Because I want to know if you ever got to find out why he had called her Candy. Her reaction to the name all the time tells me that there’s something up with it, and I want to know what it is."

Now, that made Jarek go silent for a few minutes. He nodded, a confused expression on his face as he drawled; "Yeah, me too. I wouldn’t be surprised though if she’s in some sort of romantic relationship with him or worse..."

"...and maybe that’s his special nickname for her?" I added slowly, feeling quite unsure.

However, Jay was about to respond just then when his phone rang. He picked it up and I watched as the smile slowly left his face. He frowned and drawled; "Send her off."

Now, that had me sitting upright. My brows furrowed as I took in his now darkened expression, but he wasn’t looking at me. Hell, he wasn’t looking at anything... he was furious.

Silence settled between us, one that was soon broken when he groaned, his face scrunching up in irritation. He seethed;

"Tell her that she can only come in on one condition, and that’s if she’s ready to relinquish the mate bond, and reject me."

Oh, Keisha.

I froze.

He went quiet for a couple of seconds then nodded stiffly, his eyes dark. He growled; "Okay, send her in."

My heart dropped. Even my heart, for some reason, began to race. I glanced up at Jarek then to see him already watching me, and somehow, despite his earlier rage, a smile stretched across his lips as he said to me; "Keisha is coming."

Gosh, someone needs to stop the moon goddess from pairing people, because what do you mean that she paired me with those things and Jay with this! This!

My face heated up. I smiled but my smile quickly dropped when she said;

"Then you must have a thing for freaks then... seeing as you’re about to dump one freak for another." She sassed, my jaws dropping as I watched her plop into one of the chairs and cross her legs whilst folding her arms across her chest as she drawled;

"You said you can only see me when I agree to relinquish the mate bond, and here I am... relinquishing it! But trust me, Jarek, this isn’t the end of us. We were fated for a reason."

"And you should shut up before I’m forced to throw you out!" Jarek growled, sending pheromones into the air.

A ton of prickling sensations ran up my body, but just like yesterday when Caelum had let out his Alpha aura, I didn’t cower. Keisha did.

Her eyes widened when she saw me still standing by the door. She snorted, wiped off the blood stain under her nose and sassed; "She’s even a worse freak than I am."

And I do not know why it felt like she’d come here today simply to attack and pick on me so I left, not sparing them another glance as I walked out of Jay’s office.

My heart was racing in my chest by the time I arrived in my office and to my utmost surprise, when I got in, I found three men kneeling on the floor, their hands clasped together as they said in unison;

"We’re sorry, Leilani. We really are!"

My office was littered with wrapped gifts and fancy items; And if I was in a bad mood earlier, then it obviously became worse when I saw the triplets and their stupid gifts.

I frowned, slipped back out to my office quietly and slammed the door against their faces.

"SECURITY!"
