Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 189

Chapter 189: How she feels.

Kael.

Leilani kicked my ass!

And that was not even a joke. I mean she literally kicked my ass and tossed me straight to the curb like I was nothing but a petulant child.

My eyes widened in shock as I turned to stare at her whilst wondering how she had been able to pull that off so effortlessly, and when I noticed the stunned look on her face as well, I realized then and there that she was just as surprised as I was— if not more.

She didn’t know she could do that. Hell, what other things can she do that she doesn’t know of?

She slowly raised her hands and stared at them like they were behind it, when in truth, everything had to do with her; and Zevran, who had been so stunned— too stunned to move or speak— finally snapped out of his reverie.

He whispered slowly as if in shock, his voice cold as he asked; "How?"

But I knew what he was asking even though he didn’t finish. I could tell from the way he stared at Leilani like she had just fallen straight out of Pluto.

She used to be a runt— I know that now, she’s finally been able to find her wolf, but that should not be a reason why she could easily rough house me without even breaking a sweat.

It shouldn’t be a reason why she could go toe to toe with me, an Alpha, so easily, even though that wasn’t literally.

And I should be worried. Hell, maybe I should be scared. But for some reason, I didn’t feel any of that. Instead, all I felt was a strange sense of admiration towards her. All I felt was an overbearing sense of warmth blooming in my chest.

—And I thought that she was insanely hot!

Now, the hair plastered against her forehead didn’t look matted anymore. It looked sexy. Mouthwatering sexy and like strands of melted silver.

My cheeks burned and it wasn’t until Zevran fixed me with a pointed look that I realized that I was blushing.

Ewww, goddess! Me, blushing?

In embarrassment, I helped myself to my feet, dusted off my clothes and looked down at the tiny five foot two or three woman who had just easily challenged me.

I hissed; "Never do that."

But she didn’t back down. If anything, she seemed even angrier now that I had spoken than when I was quiet. Her eyes flashed with annoyance as she glared at me from my head to my feet; And then she seethed;

"You don’t have the right to tell me what to do or not to do in my house."

"I am an Alpha, Leilani..." my voice was soft. Placating.

"And you’re an Alpha in my house!" She bit back, her nose flaring in indignation; But I didn’t miss the slight tremor in her hands or the way she couldn’t seem to look at me anymore.

It wasn’t until I heard a strange sound coming from upstairs that I remembered why I had come here in the first place. I remembered there and then that there was still a man waiting for her upstairs. A man who might have her as soon as I walked out of the door, and my face instantly fell at the thought.

I folded my arms across my chest, desperately trying to look unbothered even though I was more bothered than I cared to admit.

She spat; "Can you leave now?"

"Huh?"

"Can you both leave now?" She said again, sounding so angry I nearly reeled from the amount of aggression oozing off of her in waves.

My eyelids twitched uncomfortably as I stared at her, and for a minute, I was completely lost for words. I didn’t know what to say to her or do... and call me stupid but I knew that I didn’t want her to be with Frostclaw.

I didn’t want her to be with anyone else but me— us.

I couldn’t afford to lose her.

My hand shot out to grab hers and when she stepped back this time, I didn’t try to force it, especially since after—you know what— and I whispered; "Please."

"What are you asking for?" She asked me in confusion, and then turning to cast a glance at Zevran who now was pacing around the foot of her stairs, as if desperate to go up to Frostclaw, she snarled; "... and you, get the fuck away from there!"

"Why do you think I began to expose her schemes on your wedding day? Why do you think I had to wait until you tied the knot with her before I decided to let you know just how much of a snake she was?" She snapped, and it wasn’t until then that it began to make some semblance of sense to me.

"Get the fuck away from her!" Someone from behind me snarled, momentarily stunning me so much that I paused and turned around only to find Frostclaw standing at the beginning of the stairs.

His eyes were wild and strange... and goddess, something about it sent a chill down my spine.

I subconsciously turned to Leilani to find her stunned and then she turned to me and hissed; "Get out."

I froze. "No."

"Both of you, get the hell away from here!" She spat again and when I still wouldn’t move...

Something strange happened.

Something I would take to my grave happened.

She punched me square and hard in the face!

But before I could respond, she grabbed me by the back of my neck— and maybe it was because I was too stunned to react— she literally dragged me out of the house, shoved me so hard that I nearly fell into the snow and slammed the door right in my face.

Zevran was thrown out like a sack of potatoes shortly afterwards; But for some reason, we didn’t fight back.

We couldn’t.

Hell, we were too stunned to.

I do not know how long we waited there, as if hoping that she would reopen the door, but next thing I knew, my body was heating up again. My wolf was thrashing wildly... and my skin... my skin felt like it was on fire.

I needed no soothsayer to know what was happening and by the time the thought finally settled in my mind, I threw my body against the door and began to pound on it, hating myself for being so weak.

—And hating Frostclaw more because she never opened up this time.
