Leilani.
I cannot remember the last time I was this happy. It felt like a very long time ago since I smiled so much, and for some reason, it felt strange.
It felt strange that I could feel the sun on my skin— warm and enveloping, but I didn’t have a care in the world, not even about sunscreens. I could feel the wind in my hair, on my face and it was more heavenly than anything I have felt in a very long time.
My hair floated around me as I walked barefooted in the sand towards a small shed where I could see Zevran and Caelum arguing about something. Kael, on the other hand, walked closely behind me like a mini bodyguard, his warmth and presence filling my head like some heady perfume from the Middle East.
And goddess, he was still wearing only those boxer briefs!
The black boxer briefs that outlined the muscles of his sturdy buttocks, leaving little to nothing to my imagination. The boxer briefs that looked deliciously wet, making me wonder where the remaining part of the V below his waistline disappeared into; And the boxer briefs which—
"Leilani?" A shocked voice drifted into my subconscious, snapping me out of my reverie. My head darted upwards quickly to find Caelum waving me over, the smile on his face contagious as he bounced from one foot to the other like a little boy.
He was also shirtless like his brother Kael, but while Kael had water dripping from every goddamn inch of his body, Caelum had sand.
Freaking sand.
"Stop ogling and come over!" He yelled suggestively, snapping me one more time out of my reverie, and goddess, the time, I could hardly hide the blush on my motherfucking face.
I couldn’t help the way my face stung nor the way my heart began to beat against my chest like a wild bird in a cage.
In annoyance, I looked away, crossed my arms over my chest, desperate to look as though I had just been wrongfully accused and hissed; "I wasn’t even looking at you!"
"Say that to the pretty blush on your rosy cheeks!"
"Don’t call my cheeks rosy!" I fired back,
"Well, I can’t help it!" He snorted. "It’s impossible to ignore, especially as you’re the brightest thing in the sky today."
But I am not in the sky...
How does he not know the difference between the sky and land?
I tried to distract myself with these thoughts but the more I tried to, the more impossible it became especially since his eyes wouldn’t leave my face, and he wouldn’t stop staring at me like I was some juicy steak on a platter.
"When you’re done ogling and manage to get out of your head, come. I’ll take you swimming!" He added and with that, began to walk towards the clear water, spreading his arms wide like this was a mini version of titanic— without the ship.
I scoffed at his unreasonable words and turned to Kael as if half expecting him to take my side, but do you know what the mf did?
He snorted.
Yeah. Like a pig.
He snorted at me, leaned down to whisper something along the lines of: "let loose" into my ear, and bounced off, following Caelum— that is after fanning the tip of my ear with his warm breath.
I shuddered at the aftermath, hating my body for betraying me so badly.
And goddess, I know that this is the part where I should’ve returned to the house.
That this is the part when it should’ve settled in my tiny brain that there isn’t anyone stopping me from going back into the house.
They were too.
