Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51: Newsflash.

Leilani.

I woke up to a strange sight. I was on my bed, in my room, under my duvet with a bottle of painkillers on my bedside table and a note reading;

’I hope you’re better by the time you wake up. I’ll come visiting later today to see you.’

I frowned. "Who the hell is this? And why am I in my room when I could remember fainting at the door last night?"

I slowly rose to my feet, wincing against the searing headache at the back of my skull. My throat felt dry, my lips were chapped, so I quickly made my way downstairs to the kitchen.

However, I had just helped myself to a glass of water when suddenly, strange images began to flash across my mind like pages from a destroyed book. Images of things I’d seen, things I’d done... but I couldn’t remember doing any of those.

I could see myself running through the woods, the earth underneath my feet, the smell of grass in my nose. The wind had been in my face, my hair flowing with the air like a silver curtain behind my head. The moon had been overhead, playing a game of hide and seek behind large stormy clouds, its silvery rays bearing down on me like shadows of my hair.

And it all felt... oddly strange but familiar.

Very very familiar.

The glass of water slipped out of my hands before I could stop it, crashing against the floor with a loud deafening bang. But I wasn’t stirred by it. Instead, I looked down at my hands, inspecting my palms and realizing to my utmost shock that my scars from yesterday were gone.

The several fresh scars I’d obtained from tearing through the bouquet of roses like a mad woman had disappeared, and in the place of the large cuts I’d gotten was a smooth creamy skin.

Skin that looked like it had never been touched before. Skin that looked beautiful— too beautiful.

A gasp slipped past my lips and I rushed upstairs in a daze to my vanity mirror. I then peeked into it to stare at my reflection, but strangely, I looked normal. I looked fine.

There was nothing wrong with me.

There were no voices in my head talking to me like the way I’d heard of people’s wolves talking to them. So what the fuck happened to me?

Rinsing my face under the faucet, I went back downstairs only to freeze mid motion when the doorbell suddenly rang.

But I wasn’t expecting anyone.

’I hope you’re better by the time you wake up. I’ll come visiting later today to see you.’

The words from the letter earlier flashed across my mind and I gulped, walking shakily towards the door. When I finally pulled it open, I nearly tumbled to the floor when I came face to face with...

"Zevran?"

"Last time we met, you called me ’stupid’." He answered with a smile, winking at me as he lifted a decorated hamper containing some fruits and chocolates up to his head, as if like a peace offering.

The words immediately died in my throat. I rapidly blinked up at him in surprise and maybe... just maybe annoyance.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"Didn’t you see my letter?" He asked innocently, and for a moment, I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me whole. I wanted to disappear from the surface of the earth, never to be seen again.

Because my saviour, the person who had helped me up to my room last night was... Zevran?

Of all people... out of all my neighbors and delivery people; Zevran?!

Oh, fuck me!

I rolled my eyes. "That isn’t the question I asked you. What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." He answered softly— too softly, and I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. "You weren’t so good last night so I decided that I have to come see you today to be sure you’re better..."

I frowned, crossing my arms over my chest. "Huh?"

At that, Zevran sighed. Maybe it was frustration, maybe it was something else but he stopped to drop the hamper on the floor in front of me. His expression was a mixture of frustration and anger as he drawled;

"Last night, I felt bad for what happened at the restaurant so I followed you home, only to find you sprawled on the floor, barely breathing and... and..." he trailed off, shaking his head as if to dispel the thought.

"And are you here to hear me say thank you?" I butted in, looking up to meet his brooding gaze with a steely one of mine.

"Then you should better run along before she finds out and accuses me of trying to seduce one of you." I responded sarcastically, not missing the way his eyes darkened. Or the way he had now pushed so close, he was literally standing in my face. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
