Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 74

Chapter 74: The real Kidnapping.

Leilani.

In order for me to stop thinking about the wet dream from last night, I decided then to bury myself in work.

Today is supposedly Sunday but instead of being at home and allowing the day to fly past, I was at work, sorting through files, upgrading softwares, checking for bugs and whatnot.

It was already past seven by the time I finally decided to go home and rest, and with this thought, I cleared my desk, neatly arranged everything against tomorrow and got out.

But as soon as I stepped out of my office, the hairs at the back of my neck stood on end.

I could feel eyes on me, watching me... trailing me but I couldn’t see anyone.

"Is anyone there?" I asked loudly, but all I heard in response were the echoes of my voice and the faint sound of wind rattling against windowpanes.

Trembling, my heart soon began to race as I continued my trek towards the elevator. I got in quickly, pressed the button to take me to the ground floor, which was the parking lot and pressed my back against the cool metal to heave a sigh.

But I still didn’t feel safe. Even in this enclosed area.

I still felt watched. Still felt followed. My skin still prickled with that overbearing sense of being in danger, and that made me very afraid.

What the fuck is happening?

Now, I was full blown panicking. My hands shook as I fished out my phone from my bag with the intention of calling Jay—even though we haven’t spoken since last night— but when I picked it up, I realized something heartbreaking.

It was dead. Dead, as in the battery died.

Desperation and despair coiled tight in my chest. I screamed, whilst slamming my fists against the walls of the elevator as tears poured out of my eyes.

However, by the time I arrived at the ground floor, I had managed to wipe off my tears and schooled my features into looking composed and unafraid; But as soon as the cool air brushed against my face when I stepped out of the elevator, panic rose at the base of my stomach again.

Indeed, there was someone following me.

And from the continuous prickle on my skin, I knew for a fact that it wasn’t just someone, but several people— maybe two; So I tried to inhale quickly, to catch their scents but there was nothing. It felt like I was hallucinating. Like their scents were masked.

Panicking, I took out my car keys from my bag and began to march towards my car, but just as I arrived in front of it, I felt the sudden gust of wind behind me. I turned around quickly, my pulse rising as I screamed;

"Who’s there?!"

But there was no response.

My body shook. My hands became sweaty. God, I even began to weep silently. When the sound of my voice in the empty parking lot echoed back at me, I turned back to my car and tried to open it but due to how shaky my hands were, my keys fell.

"Shit!"

The sound of the key hitting the floor, momentarily startled me, I shrieked, slapping my hand over my chest as more tears slipped out. Then I quickly picked it up, asked; "Who’s there?! one more time, and when no response came, my fear morphed into desperation.

A desperate urge to get out of here!

I pulled my car door open urgently, but just as I made to step in, I felt something sharp prick the back of my neck.

I winced and tried to slap my hands over it, but as soon as I raised my hands, larger heavier ones held me still, stopping me from touching my neck.

I froze. My heart began to pound against my chest.

"Who are you?" I asked, but apparently, my words could only come out as a slur.

My attacker didn’t respond, he didn’t even say a word but simply stepped away from me as I fell limply to the floor, and it wasn’t until I was crumpled to the ground, staring into a pair of unfamiliar deep brown eyes and a face that was mostly hidden behind a scary looking mask that I realized what this was; 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

It was a kidnapping.

A tremor ran up my spine.

And fear, intense fear like no other, crawled up my skin so much that I began to dry heave.

My vision soon began to go blurry as well and one look at the syringe still clasped in his hands had me realizing what that meant: I’d been drugged.
