Chapter 1226
Finley flashed a grin, pulling out a velvet box from his pocket and handing it to Carmella. “I got this for you while shopping with my mom yesterday. She even asked if I’ve got a girlfriend!”
Carmella giggled flirtatiously, opening the box to reveal a diamond bracelet from GK Jewelry Studio.
She closed up the box and pushed it back to Finley. “I already have one of these. You should give it to someone else.”
Finley gazed at her, his eyes full of feelings. “Who else could I possibly give it to?”
Carmella frowned, a hint of shyness flashing across her face.
Finley handed her the bracelet again. “The shop assistant told me there are only two of these bracelets in the whole of J City. One has a star, and the other has a moon. They symbolize enduring affection. You already have one, and I’ve bought the other. It’s like fate wants us to be together.”
Carmella was touched by his words. “Really?”
“Just open it and see for yourself!”
Carmella curiously looked at the bracelet. Sure enough, there was a moon charm attached to the clasp, different from her own.
Believing him now, she smiled at Finley. “Thank you!”
“I should be thanking you for accepting it. That makes me the happiest!”
Carmella, pleased by his words, whispered, “You sure know how to sweet talk.”
Finley, captivated by her shy demeanor, found himself liking her even more.
The waiter brought their dishes and desserts. Finley poured wine for Carmella and cut her steak, asking casually, Isn’t there a designer named Estelle in your production crew?”
Carmella’s utensils clattered against the plate, her expression changing slightly. “Yes, why?”
Finley thought for a moment, then agreed. “Alright, I’ll tell David to approach Mr. Tucker.”
“Great” Carmella was excited, hoping David could successfully persuade Estelle and, even better, get caught by David’s wife, causing a scandal Estelle could never recover from!
Finley poured her another glass of wine. “Don’t worry, I’ve got your back”
Carmella looked at Finley with gratitude, clinking glasses with him.
Finley moved closer to her, smiling. “Let me help you put on the bracelet.”
Carmella hesitated, then extended her hand. “Okay”
Finley fastened the bracelet on her wrist, then held her hand, gazing at her tenderly “Carmella, I like you. I really, really like you!”
