Estelle couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, enough already!”

Jonathan resumed his cooking.

Magdalene texted back quickly. “Wow, you really have Jonathan under your thumb!”

Estelle chuckled. “He just can’t resist my cooking skills.”

Magdalene got the point immediately: “I totally get him!”

Estelle texted back, “Now you can rest easy!”

Magdalene was thrilled.

Estelle put down her phone. Jonathan’s breakfast was ready again, and even before he brought it over, Estelle was already drawn in by the delicious aroma.

Jonathan tumed his boiled noodles into fried ones.

“Give it a taste!” Jonathan placed the noodles in front of her, his hands resting on the table, awaiting her verdict.

Estelle took a bite and chewed slowly, her face gradually turning serious.

“Doesn’t it taste good?” Jonathan asked, furrowing his brows

Estelle looked up at him, shaking her head, and said, “Jonathan, I suddenly feel like I should give up on cooking”

Apparently, she couldn’t nail everything.

Jonathan burst into laughter, patting her head comfortingly and saying, “It’s okay, we can eat out if you want. If not, I’ll cook for you.”

Estelle looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. “Did you just realize that I have many flaws?”

Jonathan bent over to kiss her forehead and said, “These are not flaws; they’re opportunities for me to love you more. I’m lucky!”

Estelle felt warm inside, her eyes glistening. “Let’s eat first”

“Sure””

Jason nodded. “Alright, I’ll ask her

“Good”

Jason asked again, “You haven’t visited your master in a while. Do you want to come with me this weekend?” Mentioning her master made Estelle feel a bit guilty. “I might be busy this weekend. Please give my regards to him.”

Jason laughed and said, “Alright.”

Estelle hung up the phone just as Jonathan walked over and asked, “Who was that?”

“Jason.” Estelle responded, then looked up at the glass of water and pills in Jonathan’s hand.

Jonathan’s brows were slightly furrowed. He believed Estelle and Jason were just boss and employee, but their closeness sometimes made him uncomfortable Estelle took the pill and swallowed it, then suddenly thought of something: “Where did you buy this medicine?”

Jonathan smiled and asked, “Why?”

“One of my colleagues is looking for medicine without side effects. I showed her a picture of this one, and she said she couldn’t find it at regular pharmacies”
