Chapter 1375

"Magdalen, gimme a hug!" Kya ran over, flinging her arms wide as an invitation.

Magdalen swept Kya up and twirled her around, cheerfully announcing, "I brought your favorite cake!"

Kya giggled in Magdalen's arms, her pure joy contagious.

Concerned that his presence might make Emily uneasy, Charlie took Kya from Magdalen and said, "You two chat. I'll take Kya for a short walk."

"Where to?" Emily queried.

Charlie looked at Kya while holding her in his arms and asked, "Kya, where do you want to go?"

"Happy Castle!" Kya cheered.

Charlie nodded, "Alright, I'll take Kya to the amusement park, and we'll be back before sundown. Tonight, we will grab Jonathan and have dinner. My treat!"

Magdalen teased, "Charlie, you're on a roll today, aren't you?"

Emily shot Magdalen an embarrassed look, and told Kya, "Don't run off and listen to Uncle Charlie."

"Got it!" Kya was ecstatic at the prospect of going to the park, her face lit up as she clung to Charlie's neck.

Once Charlie and Kya had left, Magdalen placed down the coffee she had brought and turned to Emily, playfully asking, "Were you two together last night?"

Emily had been cool and collected at the wedding the previous day, but something had clearly changed overnight.

Emily was slumped on the couch, propping her face with both hands and muttering, "I don't even know why I agreed"

"Cant blame you!” Magdalen patted Emily's head sympathetically, "Charlie is irresistible after all!"

Emily's face turned redder, aware that Magdalen was just pulling her leg.

Estelle chimed in nonchalantly, "Just follow your heart, it can't be worse than when you left J City three years ago."

"He convinced me,’ Emily admitted.

Magdalen chuckled mischievously, "Convinced, or?"

Magdalen looked at Estelle in surprise, "You and Jonathan are using contraception?"

"Yep; Estelle replied, taking a bite of ice cream cake.

"Is this your decision or Jonathan's?" Magdalen probed.

Estelle raised her head and asked, "What's up?"

"Since you are married, why do you require contraception? Does Jonathan not want children?" Magdalen spoke with poise.

Estelle knew Magdalen had reservations regarding Jonathan. "It's my decision. We haven't had the wedding yet and I still have work commitments. I won't be ready for a child for a while."

Magdalen looked relieved, "And Jonathan agrees with you? I bet he's more eager for kids than you are!"

Estelle simply smiled and continued eating her cake, choosing not to answer.

After finishing her cake, Estelle went upstairs to fetch the pill for Emily. Not knowing where Jonathan kept the medication, she decided to call him.

Jonathan was in the middle of an impromptu meeting at work when he noticed Estelle's call. He immediately excused himself and picked up the call, "What's up, love?"
