“That’s what you said!” Norah glared at him and said, “Don’t you remember?” 

Xavier racked his brains over what he had said to Norah before, feeling a bit irked: “My feelings towards her don’t matter, I just don’t want her to do something stupid!” 

“Estelle isn’t doing anything stupid, she knows exactly what she’s doing!” Norah snatched his phone away and said, “You can’t meddle in their business!” Xavier retorted, “Fine, I won’t contact her, now give me back my phone!” 

“No way: I’m not sure if you’ll sneak off and call her!” Norah stuffed the phone into her own jacket pocket and said, “You go back to sunbathing; I’m going to check on Zachary and the guys playing cards.” 

Xavier could only watch helplessly as she left, smug as a bug. 

Zachary and the guys were still deep in their card game. When they saw Norah approaching, they made room for her

“No one’s going to teach you. The boss said, if anyone lets you play cards or drink, he’ll kick them out!” Damian chuckled, pulling Norah up from her seat. “Come on, let’s go to the supermarket and get you some treats!” 

Norah scoffed, “I’m not a child!” 

“Let’s go!” Damian dragged her up, and they walked out together. 

They headed towards a nearby supermarket, and after browsing around for a bit, they bought some popsicles and soda. Norah tried to pay, but Damian stopped 

her 

Norah complained, “It’s not even that expensive; why are you being so stingy? Are you treating me like a stranger?” 

Damian smiled and said, “It’s precisely because I consider you one of us that I won’t let you pay. You’re still a student. Once you start earning your own money, I won’t stop you.” 

“I already have my own income!” Norah smiled and said, “Mr. Flemmings pays me a salary every month.” 

Damian chuckled. Does Mr. Flemmings’ salary even cover the cost of one outfit for you?” 

Norah was left speechless. 

All of her clothes were tailor-made by a fixed brand at home. She didn’t have to pay for them herself, but if she were to buy them on her own, a year’s salary wouldn’t cover the cost. 

When Norah and Damian returned to the store with their popsicles, to their surprise, there was an additional person there: Zachary’s girlfriend, Luisa. Luisa was playing cards with Zachary and the guys. Seeing his girlfriend, Zachary’s face lit up with a goofy grin. 

“Norah!” Luisa, who was acquainted with Norah, greeted her with a smile. 

Luisa was average-looking, with great skin and small eyes, and she always seemed to have a flirtatious look when she looked at people. 

Norah handed her a soda and said, “Don’t you have to work today?” 

Luisa worked at a small company nearby and usually had a laid-back job. 

“My boss is out, so I managed to sneak out.” Luisa laughed, her eyes becoming even more narrow and coquettish. 

Damian distributed sodas and ice cream to everyone. Luisa picked up a soda and said with a smile, Tm going to take one to Mr. Flemmings.” 

With that, she stood up and headed towards the backyard
