At 9:50 in the morning, Carmella got out of the car, all dolled up in a light grey-pink dress, adorned with pretty diamonds. Surrounded by her agent and bodyguards, she walked towards the headquarters of GK, where a press conference was about to take place.
The place was swarming with reporters and fans shouting out their support, with signs and cheers. The flashes from countless cameras were all focused on Carmella, making her the center of attention.
Once inside the building, a bunch of people came running from the rest area, shouting excitedly, "Carmella!"
Turning her head, she saw her family, Simone, Bennett, and Natalia and Corley.
Simone was all grins, "Carmella, all our family is here to support you. Aren't you happy?"
She flashed them a sweet smile, "Thank you, grandma and grandpa. Thank you. Uncle and Auntie!"
Natalia chimed in, "Your cousin couldn't be here because of work, but we're all here rooting for you!"
Her father added, "Carmella, your grandpa is proud of you!"
Facing away from the Macclain family, Simone gave Carmella a thumbs up. Her daughter was finally making her proud!
Carmella smiled and turned to her agent, "These are my family. Can you attend them?"
"Sure thing!" the agent replied promptly.
Waving to her grandparents, she said, "I'll catch up with you later. I need to get going."
"No worries, love. Go ahead," her father said with a loving smile.
Watching Carmella walk away, Bennett whispered, "After today, I guess Snowy Studios will close its doors, right?"
Simone scoffed, "We are lenient enough to make them apologize. If we take them to court, they'll face legal consequences!"
Bennett hesitated, "Estelle is still in Snowy Studios. We shouldn't go too far, it could make it difficult for her to work in this industry in the future!"
"She brought this on herself! She should have seen this coming when she and Jason kicked Carmella out of Snowy Studios!" Simone shot back with a cold glare. "She's no longer my daughter. I don't care what happens to her!"
The Macclains were escorted to the conference room, which was packed with reporters and cameras from hundreds of media outlets.
They found themselves sitting in the front row, but they hadn't expected to run into familiar faces.
Seeing Leonie, Simone couldn't hide her smugness, "I didn't expect you to show up so early! Nice! How could you miss the Macclain family's moment in the limelight?"
Leonie remained poker-faced, "Where's Carmella?"
Simone's grin widened, "Carmella is quite the celebrity now, so she can't just show up. She'll be here when the press conference starts."
Leonie rolled her eyes dismissively, turning to talk to Sallie, "Why did you invite us here today?"
Sallie whispered, "Don't worry, you'll find out soon."
She was a bit nervous herself. She knew KING's true identity, but she had no clue about the purpose of the press conference. Even though she trusted Estelle, she was still worried.
Leonie sighed, "Carmella is going to steal the attention today. How can such an awful person get so lucky?"
Sallie looked straight ahead, expressionless, "It's just not her time yet!"
At 10 o'clock sharp, the press conference began. The room went quiet. Carmella was wearing a mask. She walked in and sat in the front row with the rest of the Macclain family.
Carmella whispered to Simone, "Mom, I might have to make a speech later. But for my sister's sake, I'll leave some dignity and room for Snowy Studios."
Simone sneered, "Why should you care about their dignity? They didn't hold back when they were bullying you. Do whatever you want, don't care about their feelings!"
Carmella chuckled, "Okay!"
With Simone's support, she felt at ease!
