Chapter 1549 

Norah suddenly started squirming in his arms, holding onto his neck for dear life and refusing to let go. 

Xavier, a big guy, immediately stiffened up. The girl’s soft cheek was pressed against his neck, her delicate and fragrant touch made him tense up from head to toe Her sweet scent was making him a bit dizzy. 

Norah herself was shocked by her own actions. She must have gone nuts to do such a shameless thing after confessing to a guy. 

Her heart was pounding even harder than before, and her cheeks were burning, but she didn’t want to let go. 

After a moment of silence, Xavier said in a husky voice, “Down 

Norah froze for a moment, then let go and slid off him. She lowered her head, looking like a kid who had done something wrong, feeling utterly embarrassed. “Im sorry!” 

Xavier acted as if nothing had happened and went to pick up a ladder. “That’s enough, no more pruning. Fill clean up here, you go help Zachary in the kitchen.” 

“Okay.” Norah didn’t dare to look at Xavier, she headed for the kitchen. After a few steps, she stopped and looked apologetic. “I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you!” 

After saying that, Norah couldn’t help but laugh. She rolled her eyes and went quickly into the kitchen.. 

Xavier, carrying the ladder, stared at the disappearing figure of the girl. He was taken aback. He thought she was embarrassed, but it turned out she thought she had done something bad. 

Offend? 

Why did the word ‘offend sound so strange? 

And she didn’t do it on purpose? 

Was someone forcing her? 

The more Xavier thought about it, the more amusing he found it. He allowed himself a small smile, looking at the bug on the fallen leaves. He flicked a leaf at the bug. The bug’s wings were shattered, and its ugly body fell into a pile of twigs and leaves. 

At the James Building 

In the afternoon, Charlie was holding a meeting in the marketing department’s meeting room, and Emily was there to take notes. 

Tracy was sitting at her desk, feeling that Charlie was becoming more and more appreciative of Emily and that her position as an assistant would soon be taken over by someone else. 

Suddenly, someone came in from the elevator. Tracy looked over and stood up to greet her. “Ms, Waters!” 

Waters, dressed in a blue silk dress and with her makeup done to perfection, smiled and said, “I’m here to discuss some things with Mr. James. Fortunately, even though I haven’t been here for a long time, the receptionist didn’t give me a hard time?” 

Tracy immediately Taughed. “You are an honored guest, who would dare to stop you?” 

Waters took out a bottle of perfume from her bag and handed it to Tracy. “This perfume is Style Station’s new product, it suits you perfectly. The scent is fresh and elegant. The first time I smelled it, I thought of you 

Tracy accepted the perfume with a big smile. “I always feel bad for making you spend money on me.” 

“It’s just a bottle of perfume, don’t be so formal with me!” 

Purchasing a few hundred dollar perfume for Waters was like buying a cup of coffee that costs a few dollars 

Tracy laughed. “Mr. James is having a meeting on the 31st floor, it might be a while before he gets back.” 

“He sure is busy, every time I come here, it’s because of a meeting.” Waters huffed a little 

The group has started a new project, and Mr. James has decided to get involved personally” Tracy explained. 

Waters nodded in understanding “I know, that’s why I’m here. I hope Mr. James can consider our friendship and let me take part in some of the project” 

Tracy replied with a smile, “If Ms. Waters is interested, I’m sure Mr. James will consider it 

Waters changed the subject to “Where does Mr. James go to relax after work recently?” 

Tracy pondered for a moment before replying. Tm not quite sure, all of Mr. James’ schedule is now arranged by Emily” 

“Emily? Mr. James really trusts her Waters’ eyes lit up 

“Yes. Emily’s position in Mr James’ eyes is very high now, whatever Emily requests, Mr. James will agree to Tracy said with a smile, a look of inscrutability in her 

““Really?” Waters seemed a bit surprised “Does Mr. James like her that much?”
