Magdalen leaned on Estelle’s shoulder, batting her eyelashes and laughing. “I’m not drunk, you know. Don’t be so uptight. Do you really think rd let a kid pull the wool over my eyes? I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve, thanks to you! Plus, Kevin just sees me as an elder sis. It’s not the way you’re thinking!” 

Estelle retorted, “Shut it. Every time we go out, you drink like a fish. You should know your limit.” 

“Aren’t you right by my side?” Magdalen looked up at her, grinning, “I only get wild when I’m with you, you should know that.” 

Estelle lowered her eyes, “I know you’re hurting inside” 

Magdalen snuggled onto her shoulder, closed her eyes and whispered, “Not at all, I’m just happy tonight, and being happy makes me want to drink” 

“Just stop talking and catch some Z’s. Til wake you when we’re home Estelle comforted her 

“Mm.” Magdalen snuggled closer to Estelle 

Despite Estelle’s slender figure, her shoulder brought Magdalen endless comfort 

Jonathan drove steadily while Magdalen managed to fall asleep en route. As they were nearing her home, her phone rang. It was Morrison calling. 

Estelle picked up, telling Morrison they’d be there in a jiffy. 

When they arrived at the apartment, Morrison was already waiting outside 

Estelle told Magdalen to stay in the car while she got out. But she ended up twisting her ankle as soon as she stepped out of the vehicle. 

Morrison rushed over to pick her up, apologizing to Jonathan and Estelle, “I’m sorry for the trouble” 

Jonathan just smiled, “We’re all friends here, Mr. Langston. No need for formalities. 

Estelle added, “Make sure to give her some hangover pills, or she’ll wake up with a splitting headache” 

With his gold-rigmed glasses and a gentle smile, Morrison said, “Til take care of her” 

Jonathan nodded, took Estelle’s hand and drove off 

Momson watched them leave, then carried Magdalen into the courtyard, whispering, “Why are you drunk again?” 

Magdalen stayed silent 

Thinking she was too drunk to respond, Morrison didn’t scold her. 

As Magdalen’s forehead rested against his neck, she slowly asked. “Morrison, do you still love me?” 

Morrison stopped in his tracks, looking down at her in his arms, “Why do you ask?” 

But Magdalen didn’t respond. 

Morrison continued to carry her towards the brightly lit apartment, whispering in her ear, “Magdalen, you’re the only one I love 

Magdalen kept her eyes closed, seemingly asleep. 

On their way back to Bright Commercial Center, Estelle sat in the passenger seat, looking out at the night view 

Jonathan held her hand, “You’re thinking about Magdalen, aren’t you?” 

“Something seems off with Magdalen lately. I suspect there might be issues between her and Morrison. And then there’s Kevin. I think he’s trying to woo her” Esteja 

looked worried. 

“From what I saw just now, Morrison clearly has feelings for Magdalen,” Jonathan reassured her “As for Kevin, I trust Magdalen to handle the situation.” 

Estelle replied, “Magdalen might seem savvy but Morrison has always been her protector. Sometimes, she might not fully understand other people’s intentions” 

Jonathan just smiled, “Didn’t you say that Morrison has been protecting her? What’s there to worry about?” 

Estelle glanced at Jonathan, Tve always paid attention to Magdalen and Morrison’s relationship. If something goes wrong between them, fd be upset.”
