She spend a little more time in the pantry before returning with her mug in hand. 

Tracy had already left, and Maggie approached her, flashing a polite smile. “Hello, my name is Maggie.” 

Emily extended her hand to for a light handshake. “Hi, I’m Emily!” 

“Emily, we’ll be working together on the thirty-ninth floor from now on. Please take care of me!” 

Maggie was three years older than Emily, having been working here for four years. Her youthful face with smiling eyes, making her seem very approachable. 

Emily smiled, “Actually, Ms. Maggie, you’ve been working here longer than I did. There’s so many things I can learn from you.” 

“You’re too kind, Emily!” Maggie’s eyes twinkled as she asked, “How is Mr. James? Is he easy to get along with?” 

Emily nodded, “Mr. James is very good to his subordinates!” 

“I’ve been with the company for four years and have only seen Mr. James a few times. I was suddenly transferred up here, so I’m a bit nervous. Emily, please put in a good word for me in front of Mr. James, and if there’s anything I don’t understand, please guide me as well.” Maggie smiled and said. 

“Don’t worry. You were brought up here is because Mr. James must have recognized your capabilities.” Emily reassured. 

“Thank you, Emily!” Maggie gave her a gentle smile, “I should get back to work now. And if there’s anything you need, just let me know!” 

“Of course.” 

Emily sat down to organize her work, but she couldn’t help occasionally lifting her head to glance at the CEO’s office door, losing herself in thought. The bidding process was handed over to Maggie, who was diligent and hardworking. She asked Emily about every detail, then communicated in depth with the companies.

“Emily, come and take a look. There’s a kitchen here””

Maggie walked further inside, looking around curiously. She opened the fridge and saw it was filled with bottles of water and some condiments. She asked Emily, “Is someone cooking here?” 

Emily pressed her lips together, “Probably!” 

Maggie was excited, “I enjoy cooking, and I’m pretty good at it. It’s a shame that there’s nothing here. Otherwise, I could make you a meal!” 

Emily looked at the dining table in the kitchen, and couldn’t help but recall the times when she and Charlie had meals in there. Back then, she was new to the company, and Charlie taught her everything, even during their meals. 

She listened to him attentively, occasionally zoning out, and Charlie would tap her head with his fork to get her to focus.

“You’re all included!” Gavin handed Maggie a box of cookies.
